With "Once upon a time ... in the world of Barbie" by Carlo Margoni, Fairy tales on display at the Kunst Grenzen Gallery

"Once upon a time ... in the world of Barbie" opens on Saturday 20 April at the Kunst Grenzen Gallery with the Seitner Echo band and themed poetic-literary performances, full celebration to best welcome the Art of private collecting and 'Craftsmanship!     On display are characters and settings made with original pieces or by recovering disused Barbie dolls which, with skill and manual skill, through the skilful use of needle, thread and imagination, are reborn as the undisputed protagonists of narrated stories and television classics for children. The hand that makes these dreams come true is that of the South Tyrolean private collector Carlo Margoni, who lives in Pineta di Laives (BZ, IT-39055) and, after a life in the iron carpentry branch, retired and began, first on request and then as a personal passion, to create nativity scene settings and then expand, given the success achieved, to the creation of characters and environments of fantastic and popular stories and tales.
“In our family we have always been inclined towards manual work. This is how this new passion was born" (taken from "The original nativity scenes of Carlo Margoni", QUI Bassa Atesina of 19 January 2021).
So here are exotic characters on display, Tyrolean dancers, fairytale princes and princesses in their sumptuous handcrafted dresses, the wild and magical Pippi Longstocking, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Jasmin, the little wizard Harry Potter with his inseparable friends Hermione , Ron, Agrid, Luna and Dumbledore and much more, in an amazing array of stories and colours, in Carlo Margoni's next exhibition "Once upon a time... in the world of Barbie" (C'era una volta ... nel mondo di Barbie) in Rovere della Luna.
"... I happen to see somewhere, for example in museums, something that I want to reproduce, and at that point I keep thinking about it. I've even come to dream about it, for how much I care about it" (taken from "The original nativity scenes by Carlo Margoni ", QUI Bassa Atesina of 19 January 2021).
The event will open on Saturday 20 April at the private gallery Kunst Grenzen-Arte di frontier (TN, IT-38030 Rovere della Luna, Via Villotta 7/A) from 7.00 pm, traditional music by the young South Tyrolean duo Seitner Echo (seitner.echo@hotmail.com) and poetic and non-poetic readings only on the theme of "Once upon a time..." which can be followed thanks to the usual Facebook live footage created by members on the official page of the Gallery.
