The adventures of a double bass player at the ancient Klösterle of Egna

The adventures of a double bass player told by the warm narrative voice of the actor Alfonso Masi and the notes of Michele Tovazzi will be staged on Saturday 27 April from 7.00 pm in the evocative cohort of the ancient Klösterle of Egna (BZ, IT-38044). The show "Il contrabbasso" (The Double Bass) is taken from a 1980 theatrical manuscript written by the German screenwriter Patrick Süskind which was staged for the first time at the Cuvilliés Theater in Munich on 22 September 1981 and soon became a classic translated into twenty-seven languages. The story narrates the intimate misadventures of a double bass player, a stable member of the State Orchestra, torn between a relationship of love and repulsion towards his position (only third double bass player) which never leads him to be the protagonist in an orchestral evening and therefore it makes him feel anonymous towards his beloved, the young and unaware soprano named Sarah. The protagonist, while waiting for the last scheduled show, takes courage and organizes an impulsive and reckless emotional plan to publicly declare himself to his beloved before the orchestra gives the opening line: will he be able to achieve it? With the narrating voice of the Trentino actor Alfonso Masi and the music of Michele Tovazzi, the show "Il contrabbasso" (The Double Bass) is offered with free entry on the occasion of the Finissage of the exhibition event “Autonomia è un’Arte-Autonomie ist eine Kunst” curated by Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Region in the role of the Curator Giuseppe Tasin, the Municipality of Egna and the cultural association Kunst Grenzen-Arte di frontiera aps of Rovere della Luna, catering support Pro Loco of Little Lakes of  Egna and Pro Loco Rovere della Luna. The theatrical piece will be held in the large cohort of the Hospice of San Floriano – Klösterle which throughout the Middle Ages until the 14th century offered accommodation to pilgrims who set out on their journey to Rome. The show "Il contrabbasso" (The Double Bass) is curated by the actor Alfonso Masi in collaboration with the cultural association Kunst Grenzen-Arte di frontiera aps of Rovere della Luna and the approval of the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Region in the guise of Giuseppe Tasin, Municipality and Pro Loco and the voluntary associations of Egna. "Il contrabbasso" (The Double Bass) performed by Alfonso Masi and Michele Tovazzi awaits you on Saturday 27 April 2024 at the ancient Hospice of San Floriano – Klösterle, in Via San Floriano in the Little Lakes of Egna area (BZ, IT) from 7.00 pm with free entry.
