On the occasion of Christmas the exhibition of miniature artistic Nativity scenes has reopened at the auditorium of the Cassa Rurale di Mezzocorona.
The exhibition is open every weekend from 9 December 2018 and showcases, in addition to splendid examples of classic cribs provided free of charge by some local families, scenes of the nativity set in historic buildings of Mezzocorona made in miniature.
The perfectly scaled miniatures are the work of the willing members of the Piana Rotaliana Cultural Association.
The Piana Rotaliana Cultural Association was founded in 2008 by the artist Gentile Polo as
catalyst point for the Piana Rotaliana to carry out socially useful activities in the fields of the figurative arts in any form of expression (graphic, photographic, pictorial, poetry and music, dance and theater) as long as artistic, involving for this purpose people coming from the countries of the Piana Rotaliana.

Gentile Polo brings together a group of artists and artisans who, together, are carrying out, each contributing according to their talent and talent, the project of artistic cribs with miniatures of the historic buildings of Mezzocorona.
As you can imagine, the work involved in the realization of a single model perfectly scaled is enormous and if you add to this the ecological use of materials largely recycled, you will understand that it takes about a year of voluntary work for development yes a single historical building in miniature.
Given the increasing number of commitments, in recent years the founding artist Gentile Polo has surrendered the task of treasurer and president of the Association to Mr. Roberto Tampella, who can manage his duties from home.
Instead, the artist preferred to keep a more active and practical role together with other volunteer colleagues.
For the current year the Mezzocorona building chosen for miniaturization is called “CASA GRANDA”: it is a vast building of the last century, consisting of rooms on several levels as it has been expanded several times to accommodate the families of the people.
For its intended use is a building that the inhabitants of Mezzocorona are very fond of, for this reason, although not a very old building was chosen for the nativity of the miniature artistic Nativity scenes 2018 by the Piana Rotaliana cultural association.
The artisans of the Association who worked there are Emilio, Pasquale and Paolo; the artist Gentile Polo, engaged in exhibitions and in the organization of some important collective, has chosen a more modest role, contributing with the details of the streets, the printing of the cards and the guards on the opening weekends of the exhibition.
The miniature Nativity scenes of Mezzocorona can be visited every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, during the Christmas holidays, in the Auditorium hall of the Cassa Rurale di Mezzocorona (Mezzocorona, Tn – Italy).
Admission is free and free, with hours 10.00 – 12.00 / 15.00 – 19.00.
At the exhibition of Miniature Artistic Cribs of Mezzocorona it is possible to “buy” small craft works through an offer that will be entirely donated to charity. We are waiting for you!
