Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny Budget Is Among Most Expensive Movies Of All Time

The fifth and final movie in the Indiana Jones franchise has been budgeted at an eye-watering $294.7 million, making it one of the costliest films ever. But will viewers flock to the theaters in enough numbers to recoup its expenses at the box office?

Nineteen years after The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones is seen working alongside his goddaughter Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) to remove former Nazis from her father’s company. This could be Indy’s final legacy.

The Story

Indiana Jones makes one last swashbuckling appearance in this fifth and final installment of the iconic role, this time directed by James Mangold – marking the first film in the series not directed by Steven Spielberg or George Lucas.

In the film, Indy is reunited with his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), as they collaborate to eliminate former Nazis who infiltrated NASA during the Space Race. Mangold wanted to explore this theme as Jones nears retirement and believes 1969 provided the ideal backdrop for their story.

What makes the film interesting is that it’s the most expensive in the franchise to date – at nearly $300 million! This puts it among the priciest movies of all time.

The Cast

The budget of a movie can be an essential factor in its success. Some movies go over budget but still turn a profit, while others fail to recoup their investment.

Film budgets often go over budget for various reasons, from location fees to special effects and post-production expenses. Superhero or fantasy films featuring big stars tend to have higher costs due to having to cover additional expenses that other projects don’t need to worry about.

But, it’s also essential to remember that not all expensive movies are bad. Some of the greatest successes ever made were created on a shoestring budget – such as Tangled which cost $260 million and reinvigorated Disney animation.

The Director

James Mangold directed the fifth Indiana Jones movie, directed by Logan director James Mangold who co-wrote the script with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. This marks the first time someone other than Steven Spielberg has directed an Indiana Jones film, as well as being released after Disney acquired Lucasfilm.

This latest installment of the Star Wars saga has an reportedly high budget, coming in at $294.7 million. This places it right up there with some of Hollywood’s most expensive films, such as Justice League, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Avengers: Infinity War and Avatar: The Way of Water.

Harrison Ford will return as archaeologist Indiana Jones in the upcoming adventure, alongside Boyd Holbrook, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas and John Rhys-Davies in supporting roles.

The Budget

According to Forbes magazine, the budget for Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny is an eye-popping $294.7 million. This puts it among the most expensive movies ever and is particularly high for a Hollywood blockbuster.

Harrison Ford will star as the titular hero and it is being directed by James Mangold, who previously directed Logan. Additionally, Mangold serves as co-writer with brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.

Despite having a substantial budget, it will likely be challenging for the film to generate profit. Cinemas have recently experienced difficulty drawing audiences as more people turn towards streaming services for their entertainment needs.

Due to the fact that many recent blockbusters haven’t performed well at the box office, even Indy films like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull only managed to gross $800 million worldwide in 2008.

Two Goals From Marquinhos See Norwich Past Cardiff

Marquinhos had an incredible start to life at Norwich as he scored twice in a four minute span to propel them past Cardiff and close the gap to seventh in the Championship. With this victory, Norwich have now closed the gap on seventh.

David Wagner gave the 19-year-old his first start in the Premier League since joining Norwich on loan from Arsenal, but there remains much work to do.

Gabriel Sara

Norwich’s commanding 2-0 win against Cardiff moved them within one point of the Championship play-offs. Despite a slow start, the Canaries soon took control and scored two goals through Gabriel Sara and Arsenal loanee Marquinhos to take command of the match.

Sara’s arrival in England was a risky move, but his attacking skillset and high level of technical proficiency make him an exciting prospect for Dean Smith to work with and one he hopes will serve as an opponent to Teemu Pukki.

He is an impressive midfielder with a variety of tactical and technical abilities that allow him to excel in various positions. He can work as a deep-lying midfielder to receive and build possession in the nine-space, drop into wide areas or half-spaces to take on defenders, or play as a central playmaker in six spaces where he can pick up the ball and move past pressure points.

Marquinhos

After just 33 minutes, Gabriel Sara scored his first goal for the club and Marquinhos added a second to put Norwich ahead. It was an impressive start to his career at Carrow Road and they will be delighted to have defeated Cardiff City in front of their own fans – especially ahead of Monday night’s match against Rotherham United.

An entertaining game started off with Cardiff looking the more formidable side in the opening half. Former Ipswich striker Connor Wickham saw his effort blocked by Ben Gibson, while Mahlon Romeo forced Angus Gunn into action early on.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side were in fine form, creating chances with several effective pressing moves. But it was Norwich who took the lead after 25 minutes when Sara fired a low shot into the bottom corner. Four minutes later, Onel Hernandez provided another assist for Sara to latch on to and score another goal from a cross from him. With that, Sabri Lamouchi had doubled his side’s advantage in style!

Onel Hernandez

Onel Hernandez inspired Norwich to a 2-0 win against Cardiff and extend their winning streak to three games with a 2-0 triumph in the Championship. Despite an uneventful start, they eventually found their rhythm with Gabriel Sara slamming home a low drive and Marquinhos side-footing home after Onel’s cutback had been picked out for him.

Onel Hernandez made a stunning debut for Cuba, sparking an angry fight between Norwich and Cardiff players before replacing Grant Hanley at half-time. He made an excellent early block on Romain Sawyers inside the box before flicking away a Cedric Kipre cross with his back post flick. It was an impressive debut for Cuban international Onel Hernandez!

The Canaries were in command, with Aarons and Gibson in particular making a major impact on Cardiff’s defensive line. Nonetheless, Cardiff always posed a threat and had the best chances in the opening half hour; Connor Wickham saw his shot blocked by Ben Gibson while Philogene’s half-volley deflected wide.

Ryan Allsop

On 33 minutes, Gabriel Sara put Norwich on the way to their first victory of the season with a low shot that beat Ryan Allsop to score. On 34 minutes, Onel Hernandez skidded past Mahlon Romeo and fed Marquinhos who made no mistake with his debut goal.

Sabri Lamouchi was clearly dissatisfied with how Cardiff’s side finished the first half, substituting Sory Kaba and Kion Etete for Callum Robinson and Adam Idah at halftime. Although Cardiff kept possession well throughout most of the match, several long-shot hesitations prevented them from capitalizing on any chances presented to them.

Sara and Marquinhos secured the victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, giving Norwich a much needed lift ahead of their crucial run-in. Next weekend they’ll travel to Leeds United – currently sitting atop the league table – for an important test.

Liverpool and Manchester United Managers Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag ask for ‘Tragedy Chanting’ to End

Managers Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag have issued a joint statement, imploring fans not to use offensive chants ahead of Sunday’s derby. Both clubs have recently experienced appalling chanting over tragedies such as Munich or Hillsborough during recent matches.

Liverpool and United want to showcase the special and inspiring side of their rivalry – one that has seen many ups and downs over its proud, but sometimes tragic history. Together we aim to stop the chants and create an electric atmosphere for this monumental clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Why is this so important?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag have joined forces in calling for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’ ahead of tomorrow’s decisive Premier League clash. Fans have been singing deplorable songs about historic tragedies such as the Munich air disaster, Hillsborough disaster and Heysel mine explosion.

Tragic dramas typically feature a main character of high social standing who either falls from grace or causes their own downfall through an irresponsible mistake (what the Greeks called hamartia). This suffering causes audiences to be moved, and Aristotle believed tragedy to be an act of catharsis–emotional purging–for those affected by it.

Tragic dramas were typically structured and performed with precision to effectively communicate both the plotline and moral of the play. The chorus, comprised of unpaid actors performing key parts, followed a set formula and form that included:

Hillsborough

Liverpool and Manchester United, one of England’s greatest football rivalries, have faced a certain amount of offensive chants and online abuse due to incidents like Hillsborough disaster. That is why both managers Erik ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp have joined forces in asking fans not to use such songs during Sunday’s derby match against their arch-rivals.

Why this Matters

On April 15th 1989, the worst British football disaster ever struck at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield, England – taking 97 lives. An inquest later determined that a crush of fans at Leppings Lane end of the ground was unlawful and police had failed in their duty to ensure spectator safety.

MP Ian Byrne has called on the Premier League to stop these insensitive chants and abuse, asserting they “have a duty of care” towards survivors and their families. The Hillsborough tragedy has had an immense impact on football worldwide, so it is high time the game took action and put an end to these insensitive remarks and jeers.

Munich

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag have joined forces ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash to call for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’. They want fans to focus on creating a special atmosphere during big games rather than singing about tragic events such as the Munich air disaster or Hillsborough stadium tragedy.

Recently, the issue of chanting about tragedies has become a stumbling block between football clubs. Now they have joined forces to deliver an important message: they demand that these acts of disrespect be eradicated and encourage fans to create an atmosphere that makes each game truly special.

The Premier League, Football Association and English Football League have all formed a working group to address this issue and take a zero tolerance stance. Police will take positive action against those who chant about a football tragedy while stewards also examine the matter closely.

Heysel

Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the most beloved clubs in world football, and their rivalry has always been fierce. Matches between these two sides – whether at Anfield, Old Trafford or neutral cup venues – are some of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of the year.

But these matches can become toxic when fans sing songs that reference historic tragedies. That is why Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag have called for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’ ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash at Anfield.

They have issued a joint statement demanding the cessation of “tragedy chanting” ahead of the match and encouraged fans to create an atmosphere without reliving the past. Klopp said in his statement: “Part of what makes Liverpool and Manchester United’s rivalry so special is its intensity; however, when it gets out of hand it can lead to places which are detrimental for everyone – we don’t need this.”

Mohamed Salah Scores Sensational Fourth For Liverpool to Equal Goal Record

On Sunday, Mohamed Salah scored a stunning fourth goal to tie his Premier League goal record and secure an emphatic 4-0 victory against Brighton. With 32 goals this season – three more than last season – Salah now has 32 goals to his credit in the Premier League.

After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Liverpool were widely predicted to drop out of the top four this year. But a commanding performance against Erik ten Hag has vaulted them back into contention for Champions League places.

Goals

Liverpool have kept their Premier League title hopes alive with an amazing win against Manchester United. It was Liverpool’s biggest victory against United since 1895 and their sixth straight win in all competitions – an incredible feat!

Salah’s hat-trick came in six minutes and 12 seconds, surpassing Bafetimbi Gomis’ record set during Lyon’s 7-1 victory against Dinamo Zagreb in 2011. The Egypt international also contributed three assists to Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez during his impressive performance.

Liverpool’s record goalscorer for a Premier League season was broken with this Egyptian’s hat-trick; he scored in all but two of their games this year.

Liverpool’s goal was a crucial victory as they strive to keep up with Manchester City at the top of the table. Despite having had an uneventful start, Liverpool remain one point ahead of their rivals after winning four out of their last five matches.

Man of the Match

Salah has been in remarkable form this season, scoring 23 goals in 35 league matches. He was named fan player of the year by Liverpool fans and PFA’s top goal scorer for a second consecutive year.

The Egyptian has also been named one of four finalists for the PFA’s Man of the Match award, competing alongside Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher.

Liverpool’s thrilling victory on New Year’s Eve was one of the highlights of a great start for Jurgen Klopp’s side. It means Liverpool are only one point away from finishing in the top four and will go into their final two matches with an opportunity of qualifying for knockout stages of Champions League play-offs.

Liverpool fans deserve huge praise for their outstanding support during a game which saw them sweep aside Everton in record breaking fashion. Their response to the victory was simply incredible.

Liverpool’s record-breaking win

On Saturday, Liverpool made history when they thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 to equal their club record for Premier League wins. Jurgen Klopp’s side have now won five straight matches in the top flight for the first time since 2000 – an incredible milestone in Premier League history.

Salah scored an incredible fourth goal for Liverpool to surpass Teddy Sheringham’s 2005 record of four. As now the highest-paid player in the world, Salah has scored in each of Liverpool’s Premier League openers this season.

He’s also the only player to score on the opening day of each season for five straight years, making him one of the most prolific strikers in modern soccer.

Liverpool’s victory means they have won 32 out of 38 Premier League games this season – a joint-record tally with Manchester City. Additionally, it marks 18 consecutive Premier League victories for Liverpool – another joint record streak among English top flight sides (short of Man City’s 19 wins in 2017-18).

Talking points

Liverpool’s historic victory against Manchester City at Anfield left many talking points. But none quite compare to Mohamed Salah’s stunning fourth goal which equaled Premier League goal record for a club.

His first year wearing the red shirt saw him cap off an incredible debut season with 22 goals in 37 games – his only exclusion coming after signing Covid 19. His performance has been compared to Fernando Torres’ incredible feat of scoring 40 times in one season back in 2004.

Salah is the quintessential big-game player, and he proved it against City. This was an important game for Jurgen Klopp’s side who were 13 points behind with a terrible start to the season.
