EFL Goals Round-Up

Luton Town have kept their play-off hopes alive with a win against 10-man Preston North End at Deepdale. Troy Parrott’s late penalty gave the Hatters their fifth consecutive road victory.

Norwich City defeated Millwall 3-2 at The Den, moving them back into the play-off spots. Their triumph was made even more remarkable by Gabriel Sara’s first half goal which gave them a commanding lead at halftime.

Luton Preston 2-1

Luton kept their promotion bid alive with a 3-1 victory against managerless Blackpool, while Preston closed the gap on the top six. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu scored twice as Luton leapfrogged Preston into third place.

Luton were reduced to 10 men after centre-back Tom Lockyer was sent off for a second bookable offense. Twelve minutes later, Ashley Barnes scored from the penalty spot to give Burnley 11 wins out of 12 league outings and move them 14 points clear of United with six games remaining.

Luton boss Rob Edwards has built on the success of Nathan Jones’ tenure. In his 18 league games in charge, he has won 11, drawn four and lost three. Additionally, last week his side made history by becoming the first non-league team to knock a Premier League side out of the FA Cup.

Burnley 1-1

Burnley battled valiantly to secure a 1-1 draw with Luton at Turf Moor in an intense second half, but ultimately could not find a way past Arijanet Muric in their goal. It was truly an entertaining match with plenty of energy and passion but ultimately the hosts couldn’t find any way past Arijanet Muric for their second goal of the night.

The Hatters took an early lead through Dan Potts, but Burnley found a way to level things out thanks to Josh Brownhill’s brilliant equaliser after 50 minutes. The midfielder smashed home a free-kick on the edge of the area for what proved to be their only goal of the match as they held onto hope in what had looked like being an uphill battle for much of the contest.

Burnley moved two points clear at the top of the table and extended their unbeaten streak to 15 games with this win. Chris Wood also scored his first Premier League goals of the season for Burnley; he nearly claimed a hat-trick but couldn’t quite secure it.

Norwich City 6-1

Norwich City took advantage of a Millwall side fighting to reach the play-off places with an emphatic win at The Den. Tom Bradshaw’s early opener was cancelled out by Jacob Sorensen before Gabriel Sara added a third goal for the Canaries in what turned out to be an exciting victory.

Wagner’s side made a poor start and lacked clear-cut chances, but they gradually took control after the break. Onel Hernandez crossed for Bradshaw to divert home his header and City were back ahead again. Sara then had an incredible spin and finish to secure their victory.

Zian Flemming scored a late consolation goal, but City held on for an emphatic victory that propelled them up the table to fifth place. It’s their biggest away victory since September and they will look to extend it with Sunday’s trip to Reading.

Millwall 1-3

Millwall are still mired in the bottom half of the table after suffering their latest loss to Norwich City. Despite this setback, they remain two points ahead of the bottom three and have shown enough promise that they could push for a top six finish in this season’s EFL Championship.

For much of the game, The Lions were on top and had several chances to take advantage of them, yet failed to convert any. At halftime they trailed 1-0 after Carlton Morris headed in from close range for Preston North End.

City started the second half with an offensive flair, as Pukki and Sorensen took control of midfield as Wagner’s side gained confidence. With Pukki in goal and Sorensen adding further defensive support, City gradually took control of possession.

Marcus Rashford Doubtful For Bournemouth Trip Due To Illness

Marcus Rashford MBE is an English professional footballer known for his forward role with Manchester United and England national teams. Known for his pace, technical ability, and finishing abilities; Marcus also uses his platform as an activist against racism, homelessness, and child hunger through various campaigns and philanthropy efforts.

Manchester United have a few injury boosts ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

On Saturday, Manchester United travel to face Cherries in a crucial Champions League qualification battle. A win would secure them fourth-place status but only if Liverpool slip up against Aston Villa or already-relegated Southampton and secure themselves fourth spot in the table.

Marcus Rashford may not make the trip to the south coast after falling ill during training sessions this week, reporting feeling unwell during one session and reporting back as “unfit”. Erik ten Hag will need to decide whether or not Rashford should remain part of his squad for this trip.

Rashford’s team-mate Scott McTominay has returned to training, following being rested for Wolverhampton on Saturday as a precaution. It is hoped he will be fit against Cherries. Similarly, France defender Raphael Varane returned to full training following being rested for this weekend’s game and could make an appearance when returning from injury.

Marcus Rashford is doubtful for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Marcus Rashford may return to Manchester United’s starting XI for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth but must overcome illness first. Rashford missed last weekend’s 2-0 win against Wolves due to leg injury but was seen training at Carrington on Wednesday morning.

With three league matches remaining, 25-year-old Thomas will look to help his side secure a top-four finish with three league wins remaining. United currently lie fourth with just one point ahead of Liverpool for fifth position; plus they have played one extra match than Liverpool!

Rashford earned comparisons to Thierry Henry and Patrick Kluivert while still in Ajax youth football, and since then he has developed his craft over four years at Ajax. Rashford made his senior England debut in 2016 under Gareth Southgate’s side that eventually reached the semi-finals at 2018 World Cup. On Saturday he could receive further assistance with Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay back on board as teammates.

Raphael Varane is fit to return.

Raphael Varane has reportedly been given clearance to return to action with Manchester United following an injury sustained during their Europa League tie against Sevilla. Varane had to be taken off during that match due to foot pain; tears could be seen rolling down his cheek as he left the field in tears indicating it might be extended period out for recovery.

Varane was able to train this week, with full contact sessions set to return on Friday – which may allow him to appear against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final on 3 June.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping that Varane can assist his Red Devils team compete on all three fronts during the final few weeks of this season. Manchester United remain in contention for a top four finish, Champions League semi-final place and FA Cup victory, so having their captain back would certainly provide a big boost during that final stretch of action.

Scott McTominay is back in training.

Scott McTominay has also suffered injury difficulties this season for United, having sustained an issue in their 2-0 win against Everton on April 8. Since then, he has been out.

McTominay returned to training this week, and manager Erik ten Hag said it is possible he may play against Bournemouth on April 25.

Raphael Varane has also returned fully fit after suffering a hamstring injury during the 2-0 win against Wolves, although he was taken off as a precaution at half-time in that game.

At least it appears he will be available for Manchester United’s trip to South Coast – something which should provide United with a welcome boost of creativity in their midfield, which has been lacking recently. United currently sit fourth in Premier League table and victory on Saturday combined with Liverpool losing against Aston Villa would secure top four status for them.

The former Manchester City captain signed a five-year deal that will keep him at Turf Moor until 2028; there had been speculation linking him with Chelsea or Tottenham, but thanks to this new agreement he will stay put at Turf Moor – his hometown club!

Since taking over from Sean Dyche last summer, Kompany’s impact has been substantial – leading the Clarets back into Premier League immediately and revolutionising their playing style; currently leading them to top position in Championship.

Kompany’s hard work was recently recognized when he signed a new contract at Barnfield training centre, as was noted by Pep Guardiola who recently said that Kompany will eventually take over at Etihad Stadium. His commitment is evidenced by this contract renewal as well as arrangements he has made so players can spend time at local spa before matches and Sky Sports installed in each room at stadium – both hallmarks of great detail that show his caretaking. Birmingham and Stoke Battle to Goalless Draw

On Easter Monday at St Andrew’s, Stoke and Birmingham fought to a goalless draw. Despite being the better team throughout, Birmingham were unable to break down an impressive Stoke defense that had kept four clean sheets in six Championship games.

Stoke remain 14th and in contention for their first top-half finish since relegation from the Premier League five years ago. John Eustace’s side are eight points clear of the bottom three with six games remaining.

John Ruddy

John Ruddy made an incredible save to tip Tyreece Campbell’s long-range strike around the post in Birmingham’s goalless draw with Stoke City at St. Andrew’s.

Blues had the upper hand for much of the game and should have gone into halftime ahead. But Stoke dominated possession and created several chances, with Peter Crouch and Marko Arnautovic both missing great chances.

Info: yallashoot

Stoke were awarded a penalty in the second half after Bassong fouled Guidetti and Jonathan Walters converted to level the scores. Blues could have taken control at this point had Krystian Bielik not had his shot blocked on goal by Nick Powell.

Tyreece Campbell

TYRESE Campbell put up a valiant fight against Stoke City and came close to scoring before John Ruddy saved his attempt. The son of former Arsenal striker Kevin is out of contract at the end of this season and Celtic and Rangers are interested in signing him.

In the opening half, 22-year-old Kane was a major threat and forced Ruddy into several saves before blasting an effort wide of the post. Although Potters led 2-1 at half time, Blues created more chances with their feet on the line.

Reda Khadra

On Saturday, Birmingham City began the fight for Championship survival when they faced Stoke City. Although they had won three of their previous five matches, this match against Stoke City proved crucial and needed a victory to stay unbeaten.

A draw was an appropriate result, with both teams situated in the bottom half of the table and eager to secure their place for next season’s competition.

On Thursday, Reda Khadra’s loan move from Sheffield United was announced and he immediately caused some problems for the Potters with an impressive inswinging cross. With this signing, Khadra replaces Morgan Gibbs-White at the club who returns to Wolves on loan; hopefully he can work well alongside Ndiaye and Brewster in their new roles.

Krystian Bielik

Birmingham City and Stoke City battled to a scoreless draw, guaranteeing Blues their place in the Championship for next season. John Eustace’s men extended their unbeaten streak to four matches and extended their point total to 50.

Krystian Bielik had a chance to seal victory for Stoke with five minutes remaining, but Nick Powell blocked his shot on the line. It was Blues’ best opportunity of the game and it’s unfortunate it didn’t go in.

Lukas Jutkiewicz

At St Andrew’s, it was a fiercely fought game to a goalless draw as both Stoke and Birmingham battled for their play-off hopes. Krystian Bielik was the only Blue to come close to breaking the deadlock but Jack Bonham denied him.

Jutkiewicz was the hero of the game, scoring his first goal in a Birmingham shirt to cancel out Andy Carroll’s opener and move him into the top half of the Championship goalscorers table. He hopes to add further goals when these two clubs meet next weekend.

Ki-Jana Hoever

Hoever was an unexpected addition to the Stoke bench after Lovren suffered an injury. But he showed why their faith in him paid off, displaying his quality centre-half play in the opening 45 minutes of the game.

Birmingham struggled to create chances in the opening 45 minutes. Krystian Bielik had two good chances in the second half, first nodding goalwards from a Bacuna free-kick and then shooting into a defender after a corner five minutes from time.

Ki-Jana Hoever has continued to demonstrate his quality in recent days, scoring three goals in as many games for Stoke. It is truly impressive to witness such attacking prowess come to the fore.

Man Utd Plan Clearout – Up to 13 Players Set to Leave Old Trafford This Summer

Manchester United have an expansive squad, and with many players either struggling or set for transfers, fans are calling for a purge. It’s no surprise that they want such an overhaul.

A MEN Sport poll has indicated that up to 13 United players could be sold this summer as Erik ten Hag seeks to revamp his squad. Potential sellers include Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Anthony Martial – who could all be on the market at once.

Manchester United are preparing for a summer clearout with up to 13 players set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United are bracing for a summer clearingout, with up to 13 players expected to depart Old Trafford this summer. Erik ten Hag hopes to recoup some cash during this break as he continues his Manchester United revolution.

United are seeking to add more players as they continue their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League and an invitation to the Champions League next season. With these funds, United can afford further acquisitions.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United are looking to part with Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial this summer. Furthermore, current loanees Eric Bailly and Alex Telles could also depart this summer.

Harry Maguire

Manchester United are bracing for a summer purge, with up to 13 players expected to depart Old Trafford this summer. A number of high-profile names have been linked with departures as ruthless manager Erik Ten Hag looks to rebuild his squad.

Harry Maguire is one of the players reportedly on the verge of leaving Manchester United, having struggled to gain Erik ten Hag’s trust since replacing Raphael Varane at centre back. It has been reported that Maguire could be one of those on the move.

He has been a bit of a bystander this season, with Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay taking his place on the pitch. However, Maguire is known for being strong with the ball and his leadership qualities have been praised by coaches.

Eric Bailly

Old Trafford are set to purge senior players this summer, as head coach Erik ten Hag is said to be planning a mass exodus. Last transfer window, Manchester United completed major deals, with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata among those free agents at their ends of contracts.

Meanwhile, several defenders are considered surplus to requirements and could be released, including Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe.

Last season, Bailly was an integral part of United’s success in the EFL Cup and Europa League, but his injuries have prevented him from breaking into the starting eleven this term. It is believed he will leave on loan, with Marseille his likely destination.

Info: كورة لايف

Brandon Williams

Man Utd have won the Carabao Cup but have struggled in the Premier League. Now Erik ten Hag is calling for a drastic squad clearout to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and bring in fresh talent.

Alex Telles, currently on loan at Sevilla, and Brandon Williams could both be put up for sale alongside defender Eric Bailly. According to reports, Telles was involved in a training ground altercation with teammate Hannibal Mejbri after their defeat to Brighton.

United are said to be considering the futures of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both of whom have struggled under Ten Hag’s watch. Furthermore, Donny van de Beek has also failed to make an impact during his first season at Old Trafford.

Alex Telles

Manchester United are gearing up for a summer clearout, with up to 13 players set to depart Old Trafford this summer. This comes as Erik Ten Hag strives to restructure his squad after enjoying success under his management at United.

Reports indicate Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams, Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Alex Telles are expected to join Manchester United’s transfer list this summer. While all four defenders have played an integral role in their team’s success this term, none is expected to have a major influence over their futures at Old Trafford.

Many midfielders have been linked with a move away. Donny van de Beek is widely expected to depart after his disastrous first year under Ten Hag, while Scott McTominay may see his Old Trafford career come to an end with this season.

Anthony Martial

Manchester United are gearing up for a summer cleanout, with up to 13 players expected to depart Old Trafford this season. Erik ten Hag completed major business in the summer by signing Antony, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez for an estimated PS150m, but it appears he may be selling some players who haven’t lived up to expectations.

Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial are among the outgoings. If Eric Bailly fails to make at least five appearances for Olympique Marseille during his loan period with United, United could potentially look to purchase him.

Two Goals From Marquinhos See Norwich Past Cardiff

Marquinhos had an incredible start to life at Norwich as he scored twice in a four minute span to propel them past Cardiff and close the gap to seventh in the Championship. With this victory, Norwich have now closed the gap on seventh.

David Wagner gave the 19-year-old his first start in the Premier League since joining Norwich on loan from Arsenal, but there remains much work to do.

Gabriel Sara

Norwich’s commanding 2-0 win against Cardiff moved them within one point of the Championship play-offs. Despite a slow start, the Canaries soon took control and scored two goals through Gabriel Sara and Arsenal loanee Marquinhos to take command of the match.

Sara’s arrival in England was a risky move, but his attacking skillset and high level of technical proficiency make him an exciting prospect for Dean Smith to work with and one he hopes will serve as an opponent to Teemu Pukki.

He is an impressive midfielder with a variety of tactical and technical abilities that allow him to excel in various positions. He can work as a deep-lying midfielder to receive and build possession in the nine-space, drop into wide areas or half-spaces to take on defenders, or play as a central playmaker in six spaces where he can pick up the ball and move past pressure points.

Marquinhos

After just 33 minutes, Gabriel Sara scored his first goal for the club and Marquinhos added a second to put Norwich ahead. It was an impressive start to his career at Carrow Road and they will be delighted to have defeated Cardiff City in front of their own fans – especially ahead of Monday night’s match against Rotherham United.

An entertaining game started off with Cardiff looking the more formidable side in the opening half. Former Ipswich striker Connor Wickham saw his effort blocked by Ben Gibson, while Mahlon Romeo forced Angus Gunn into action early on.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side were in fine form, creating chances with several effective pressing moves. But it was Norwich who took the lead after 25 minutes when Sara fired a low shot into the bottom corner. Four minutes later, Onel Hernandez provided another assist for Sara to latch on to and score another goal from a cross from him. With that, Sabri Lamouchi had doubled his side’s advantage in style!

Onel Hernandez

Onel Hernandez inspired Norwich to a 2-0 win against Cardiff and extend their winning streak to three games with a 2-0 triumph in the Championship. Despite an uneventful start, they eventually found their rhythm with Gabriel Sara slamming home a low drive and Marquinhos side-footing home after Onel’s cutback had been picked out for him.

Onel Hernandez made a stunning debut for Cuba, sparking an angry fight between Norwich and Cardiff players before replacing Grant Hanley at half-time. He made an excellent early block on Romain Sawyers inside the box before flicking away a Cedric Kipre cross with his back post flick. It was an impressive debut for Cuban international Onel Hernandez!

The Canaries were in command, with Aarons and Gibson in particular making a major impact on Cardiff’s defensive line. Nonetheless, Cardiff always posed a threat and had the best chances in the opening half hour; Connor Wickham saw his shot blocked by Ben Gibson while Philogene’s half-volley deflected wide.

Ryan Allsop

On 33 minutes, Gabriel Sara put Norwich on the way to their first victory of the season with a low shot that beat Ryan Allsop to score. On 34 minutes, Onel Hernandez skidded past Mahlon Romeo and fed Marquinhos who made no mistake with his debut goal.

Sabri Lamouchi was clearly dissatisfied with how Cardiff’s side finished the first half, substituting Sory Kaba and Kion Etete for Callum Robinson and Adam Idah at halftime. Although Cardiff kept possession well throughout most of the match, several long-shot hesitations prevented them from capitalizing on any chances presented to them.

Sara and Marquinhos secured the victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, giving Norwich a much needed lift ahead of their crucial run-in. Next weekend they’ll travel to Leeds United – currently sitting atop the league table – for an important test.

Liverpool and Manchester United Managers Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag ask for ‘Tragedy Chanting’ to End

Managers Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag have issued a joint statement, imploring fans not to use offensive chants ahead of Sunday’s derby. Both clubs have recently experienced appalling chanting over tragedies such as Munich or Hillsborough during recent matches.

Liverpool and United want to showcase the special and inspiring side of their rivalry – one that has seen many ups and downs over its proud, but sometimes tragic history. Together we aim to stop the chants and create an electric atmosphere for this monumental clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Why is this so important?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag have joined forces in calling for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’ ahead of tomorrow’s decisive Premier League clash. Fans have been singing deplorable songs about historic tragedies such as the Munich air disaster, Hillsborough disaster and Heysel mine explosion.

Tragic dramas typically feature a main character of high social standing who either falls from grace or causes their own downfall through an irresponsible mistake (what the Greeks called hamartia). This suffering causes audiences to be moved, and Aristotle believed tragedy to be an act of catharsis–emotional purging–for those affected by it.

Tragic dramas were typically structured and performed with precision to effectively communicate both the plotline and moral of the play. The chorus, comprised of unpaid actors performing key parts, followed a set formula and form that included:

Hillsborough

Liverpool and Manchester United, one of England’s greatest football rivalries, have faced a certain amount of offensive chants and online abuse due to incidents like Hillsborough disaster. That is why both managers Erik ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp have joined forces in asking fans not to use such songs during Sunday’s derby match against their arch-rivals.

Why this Matters

On April 15th 1989, the worst British football disaster ever struck at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield, England – taking 97 lives. An inquest later determined that a crush of fans at Leppings Lane end of the ground was unlawful and police had failed in their duty to ensure spectator safety.

MP Ian Byrne has called on the Premier League to stop these insensitive chants and abuse, asserting they “have a duty of care” towards survivors and their families. The Hillsborough tragedy has had an immense impact on football worldwide, so it is high time the game took action and put an end to these insensitive remarks and jeers.

Munich

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag have joined forces ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash to call for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’. They want fans to focus on creating a special atmosphere during big games rather than singing about tragic events such as the Munich air disaster or Hillsborough stadium tragedy.

Recently, the issue of chanting about tragedies has become a stumbling block between football clubs. Now they have joined forces to deliver an important message: they demand that these acts of disrespect be eradicated and encourage fans to create an atmosphere that makes each game truly special.

The Premier League, Football Association and English Football League have all formed a working group to address this issue and take a zero tolerance stance. Police will take positive action against those who chant about a football tragedy while stewards also examine the matter closely.

Heysel

Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the most beloved clubs in world football, and their rivalry has always been fierce. Matches between these two sides – whether at Anfield, Old Trafford or neutral cup venues – are some of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of the year.

But these matches can become toxic when fans sing songs that reference historic tragedies. That is why Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag have called for an end to ‘tragedy chanting’ ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash at Anfield.

They have issued a joint statement demanding the cessation of “tragedy chanting” ahead of the match and encouraged fans to create an atmosphere without reliving the past. Klopp said in his statement: “Part of what makes Liverpool and Manchester United’s rivalry so special is its intensity; however, when it gets out of hand it can lead to places which are detrimental for everyone – we don’t need this.”

Mohamed Salah Scores Sensational Fourth For Liverpool to Equal Goal Record

On Sunday, Mohamed Salah scored a stunning fourth goal to tie his Premier League goal record and secure an emphatic 4-0 victory against Brighton. With 32 goals this season – three more than last season – Salah now has 32 goals to his credit in the Premier League.

After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Liverpool were widely predicted to drop out of the top four this year. But a commanding performance against Erik ten Hag has vaulted them back into contention for Champions League places.

Goals

Liverpool have kept their Premier League title hopes alive with an amazing win against Manchester United. It was Liverpool’s biggest victory against United since 1895 and their sixth straight win in all competitions – an incredible feat!

Salah’s hat-trick came in six minutes and 12 seconds, surpassing Bafetimbi Gomis’ record set during Lyon’s 7-1 victory against Dinamo Zagreb in 2011. The Egypt international also contributed three assists to Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez during his impressive performance.

Liverpool’s record goalscorer for a Premier League season was broken with this Egyptian’s hat-trick; he scored in all but two of their games this year.

Liverpool’s goal was a crucial victory as they strive to keep up with Manchester City at the top of the table. Despite having had an uneventful start, Liverpool remain one point ahead of their rivals after winning four out of their last five matches.

Man of the Match

Salah has been in remarkable form this season, scoring 23 goals in 35 league matches. He was named fan player of the year by Liverpool fans and PFA’s top goal scorer for a second consecutive year.

The Egyptian has also been named one of four finalists for the PFA’s Man of the Match award, competing alongside Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher.

Liverpool’s thrilling victory on New Year’s Eve was one of the highlights of a great start for Jurgen Klopp’s side. It means Liverpool are only one point away from finishing in the top four and will go into their final two matches with an opportunity of qualifying for knockout stages of Champions League play-offs.

Liverpool fans deserve huge praise for their outstanding support during a game which saw them sweep aside Everton in record breaking fashion. Their response to the victory was simply incredible.

Liverpool’s record-breaking win

On Saturday, Liverpool made history when they thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 to equal their club record for Premier League wins. Jurgen Klopp’s side have now won five straight matches in the top flight for the first time since 2000 – an incredible milestone in Premier League history.

Salah scored an incredible fourth goal for Liverpool to surpass Teddy Sheringham’s 2005 record of four. As now the highest-paid player in the world, Salah has scored in each of Liverpool’s Premier League openers this season.

He’s also the only player to score on the opening day of each season for five straight years, making him one of the most prolific strikers in modern soccer.

Liverpool’s victory means they have won 32 out of 38 Premier League games this season – a joint-record tally with Manchester City. Additionally, it marks 18 consecutive Premier League victories for Liverpool – another joint record streak among English top flight sides (short of Man City’s 19 wins in 2017-18).

Info: كوره لايف

Talking points

Liverpool’s historic victory against Manchester City at Anfield left many talking points. But none quite compare to Mohamed Salah’s stunning fourth goal which equaled Premier League goal record for a club.

His first year wearing the red shirt saw him cap off an incredible debut season with 22 goals in 37 games – his only exclusion coming after signing Covid 19. His performance has been compared to Fernando Torres’ incredible feat of scoring 40 times in one season back in 2004.

Salah is the quintessential big-game player, and he proved it against City. This was an important game for Jurgen Klopp’s side who were 13 points behind with a terrible start to the season.

Norwich City Manager Dean Smith Sacked

Despite a positive start to the season, Norwich City have struggled to maintain their momentum. They have won only four of their last 15 matches, and have suffered seven defeats in their last 12 league games. The Canaries occupy the fifth position in the table, but remain only a couple of points behind the automatic promotion places.

Smith joined Norwich from Aston Villa, where he guided the club to the Championship and Carabao Cup finals. He was appointed in November and took charge of the Canaries a few days later. During his time in charge, the Canaries won four of their first fourteen league matches, and lost only one. This led many to expect Norwich to challenge for promotion. But a poor run of form has seen them fall away from the top two and into the play-offs.

After the defeat at home to Blackburn, which saw the Canaries playing against ten men, Dean Smith faced a torrent of criticism from supporters. One fan allegedly threatened to leave the stadium, while another chanted, “We want Deano out!” Earlier, Smith had appeared to blame the fans for the defeat.

It is unclear what caused the change of direction for Smith. It is believed that Delia Smith, the club’s majority shareholder, made the decision to sack him. She was unhappy with his performance, and decided to make a change. However, the club is yet to announce a new manager.

Info : يلا شوت الجديد

There have been reports of former Norwich captain Russell Martin being mooted as a possible replacement. But he could prove to be difficult to get out of his current role at Swansea. Other potential candidates include Kjetil Knutsen and Scott Parker.

Having spent the last 13 months in charge, Smith has been unable to lift the mood of the Canaries. Their recent form has left them just one point clear of the bottom two. With only three wins from their last 14 matches, he has been under severe pressure.

On Boxing Day, Norwich suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Luton Town. This proved to be the final straw for the team’s supporters, who were vocal in their demands for Smith to be sacked. In the 89th minute, Cauley Woodrow scored the goal that sealed the Canaries’ fate.

Ahead of the game against Reading, which takes place on Friday, Norwich will be looking to re-launch their campaign with a fresh start. They will have to find a new head coach who can lead the club to the top end of the table.

While the decision to sack Smith was a tough one for the club, it is a necessary move in order to get back on track. Hopefully, the new manager will be able to put the club back on the road to promotion. At the moment, the Canaries are only a point clear of the automatic promotion places, and are six points adrift of Burnley and Sheffield United, who are joint leaders.

Man Utd Plan 43m Gakpo Swoop In January, According To The Daily Mail

If you think the news that Man United are planning a 43 million swoop for Gakpo in January is a bit of a red herring, then think again. In addition to United’s interest in signing Pulisic, the paper suggests that Gakpo isn’t the only big name that is on their shopping list. They’ve also been linked with Memphis Depay.

United are’showing interest’ in signing Pulisic

The latest big name to get linked with a move to Manchester United is Christian Pulisic. The American is a key figure in the United Men’s National Team’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and is also enjoying a bit-part role at Chelsea.

Pulisic has scored 21 goals for the USMNT. However, he has not started any matches for Chelsea this season.

The 25-year-old has made 51 appearances for the national team, and he is currently on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The player is reportedly a good backup option for Chelsea, but he may not be keen on joining a rival club.

The player has not started a single match for Chelsea this season, but has played 30 minutes in both games. He has also played three matches in the Premier League this season.

United are’undecided’ as to where that leaves Gakpo

Gakpo has caught the attention of many in the football world with his youthful, energetic and impressive game. Having played as a winger for club and country, he has impressed at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring three goals in five matches.

His impressive goal record for PSV has led to an increased value and his fanciful transfer to Manchester United has become a real possibility. Although the Dutch side have already made a demand for EUR60m, there is a possibility that United could pay the required amount and get Gakpo in January.

During his time with PSV, Gakpo has netted 13 times in 24 appearances. He has also played in the Netherlands national team, scoring three goals in five games. He has also featured for the UEFA Champions League, netting twice. His performance for the Netherlands at the World Cup has been equally impressive.

United’s doubts about Gakpo are a warning sign

There has been plenty of speculation about whether Manchester United will be able to land Cody Gakpo in the coming weeks. The PSV forward has been in great form this season, scoring three goals in four games and assisting seven more. This has led to his becoming a target for several clubs.

In the summer, there were reports that Manchester United had held talks with PSV. However, it appears that the Dutch side is not interested in selling. Instead, they have a demand for a big fee.

As for Man Utd, there are a few reasons to be cautious when it comes to signing Gakpo. First, Louis van Gaal has not been keen on playing with wingers. As a result, there is a risk that he might end up being lost in the system.

United have moved on to other targets like Gakpo and Memphis Depay

Manchester United have made moves to sign strikers in the summer. But they have also flirted with other targets, like Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay.

Gakpo has been an impressive player for PSV Eindhoven this season. He has scored nine goals in the domestic season, and has also starred for the Netherlands at the World Cup. The 22-year-old has also impressed in the group stage of the Europa League.

He was expected to be a major signing for Manchester United, but the club opted to go with Antony Martinez instead. They are now reportedly interested in signing Memphis Depay. This would be a more affordable move than trying to sign Gakpo. However, it is worth noting that this could be a shock move for the Red Devils.

United have agreed PS85m and PS57m deals with Ajax for Antony and Lisandro Martinez

Man Utd have made a PS85m deal for Ajax’s right winger Antony and the Argentinian’s brother Lisandro. The pair were tipped to make the move after the Dutch club rejected a number of high profile bids. They are expected to join fellow Argentinian Alejandro Garnacho at Old Trafford.

The transfer is the latest in a series of moves that have seen United sign Tyrell Malacia and Phil Jones, while a number of other fringe players have been linked to the club. The club are also reportedly in talks with Villarreal over a possible Pau Torres switch.

Ajax have a wealth of assets at their disposal, and a number of their best players are looking to make big money from them. The Dutch giants have already sold Ryan Gravenberch to Bayern Munich and Sebastien Haller to Dortmund. They have also raised funds through the sales of other first team players. They are looking to make a substantial profit on the likes of Lisandro and Antony.
