Having added a number of attacking options since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou (58-Australia), Tottenham are looking to bolster their attack this summer. Albert Gudmundsson (26-GENOA) has been on their radar since last year. Genoa are looking for €30 million for Gudmundsson.
Italian outlet Calciomercato reported on Tuesday (June 10) that “Gudmundsson will not leave unless it is for €30 million. Genoa expect an offer at that level to come in June, while Tottenham and Newcastle are among the clubs chasing him,” the Italian outlet reported.
Postecoglou’s aggressive approach has paid off in his first season in charge. Under Postecoglou, Spurs have scored 49 goals in 24 Premier League games, the third-most in the league behind Manchester City (56) and Liverpool (55). Led by Son Heung-min (31), the Premier League’s fourth-leading scorer, the Spurs have bounced back from last season’s struggles with a variety of players contributing to the goal-scoring column, including Heung-Min Son (26) and Dejan Kuluczewski (23).
However, the team’s offense plummets when key striker and captain Son Heung-min is out, leaving Postecoglou with a lot to think about. With Son sidelined for the Asian Cup, Timo Werner, 27, was brought in to replace him, but his lack of decision-making in the 토토 box has been a problem. Gylfi Gudmundsson has been on Tottenham’s radar since last year. With excellent dribbling skills and the ability to create chances, he is a versatile player who can play on either flank or up front.
With a career-high season this season, he has attracted interest from a number of big clubs, and Tottenham are one of them. Gudmundsson and Genoa signed a new contract until 2027 ahead of the winter transfer window, but the Gunners are willing to sell him if an offer in the region of €30 million comes in.
Tottenham have a good relationship with Genoa, having previously signed Radu Dragucin, 22. Furthermore, Gudmundsson’s agent is also responsible for the signings of Dragucin and Guglielmo Vicario (27), which could give Spurs an easier time than other teams.
