The Samsung Lions took advantage of a self-destructive LG Twins offense to extend their home winning streak to five games.
Samsung won 6-4 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, South Korea, on Nov. 11 in their 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League home game against LG.
Samsung scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, taking advantage of four errors by the LG defense. Leadoff hitter Lee Sung-kyu reached second base on a throwing error by LG right fielder Hong Chang-ki. The second batter, Ahn Joo-hyung, reached base on a sacrifice bunt, a throwing error by LG pitcher Kim Yoo-young at first base and another throwing error by Hong Chang-ki.
Samsung continued to build on its 2-1 lead in the fourth inning, scoring one run in three consecutive innings. LG was forced to utilize a bullpen day after starter Choi Won-tae suddenly complained of side pain and was replaced by reliever Kim Yoo-young.
LG didn’t go down without a fight. Austin Dean’s sushi home run in the top of the seventh inning cut the deficit to 4-5. However, back-to-back two-out rallies in the top of the eighth and ninth innings brought them to their knees. Samsung closer Oh Seung-hwan preserved the win in the ninth.
Samsung starter Denny Reyes pitched five innings of one-run ball to improve to 7-3. LG had 15 hits, more than Samsung, but committed five errors and left 15 runners on base in the one-run loss.
The SSG Landers defeated the KIA Tigers 7-6 at home in Incheon.
Tied 6-6 with runners on first and second, SSG was on the verge of winning the game when Lee Ji-young singled to left field. However, the umpire called Heredia out as the runner at second base did not touch home properly. A slow replay showed that Heredia’s hand hit the exact corner of home plate, but SSG, who had exhausted their opportunity to appeal the call, had to accept the call.

Kim Hye-seong collected two hits and two RBIs, while No. 4 hitter Song Sung-moon drove in the winning run with a two-run single.
The Hanwha Eagles defeated the Doosan Bears 6-1 at Jamsil Stadium. Kim Kyung-moon won his seventh game in charge of Hanwha with four wins (one tie and two losses) to become the sixth manager in history to reach 900 career wins (31 wins and 776 losses).
