What to do in a day in Gozo?

Though separated from Malta, the main island, one must travel to Gozo. Unlike Malta, Gozo is more rural and is dotted with tiny villages, making it a quite location for people searching to invest in or buy Gozo property to retire.

Roam around Rabat

When travelling to Gozo, one must start their trip by visiting Gozo’s capital city, Rabat. Rabat is Gozo’s largest city and is located in the middle of the island. Thanks to its strategical position, the Phoenicians and the Romans built a citadel which today, offers panoramic views of the countryside, villages and of Malta.

Ggantija temples

Just a stone throws away, one then needs to visit the temples of Ggantija in Xghara. The temples of Ggantija consist of two different megalithic temples, one located in the north and the other on the southern part of the town and are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Both temples have been identified being older than the pyramids of Egypt, making such historic sites a must visit site when travelling to Gozo.

Visit Marsalforn

Lastly, after a day roaming the old and narrow streets of Rabat and visiting historic sites, one must feast is the bustling fishing village of Marsalforn. Marsalforn is located on the north cost of Gozo and is the most popular tourist resort on Gozo where one can find hotels, restaurants, bars and two different types of beaches to unwind.
