Toews controls play when jersey

Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby are Kam Chancellor Youth Super Bowl Jersey two of the NHL’s best centers. However, they accomplish their excellence in very different ways. Crosby’s success comes through his ability to put points on the board as the league’s premier playmaker. Toews operates more as a tactician, who controls the play around him like pieces on a chess board. Both have built remarkable careers after building a foundation at Shattuck-St. Mary’s prep school in Minnesota (Crosby 2002-03, Toews 2003-05). Toews controls play when he is on the ice, as evidenced by a 57.6 Corsi For percentage this season. This means his team is generating 57.6 percent of the shots when he is on the ice in 5-on-5 ice time (sixth-best among centers with at least 400 minutes played). Since coming into the league, Toews’ Corsi For percentage ranks third in the NHL among all skaters. What makes Toews special is his ability to be productive in 5-on-5 play. In the past three years, only Tyler Seguin and Steven Stamkos have scored more goals among centers in those situations. Toews’ 14.1 shooting percentage in those situations ranks sixth among centers with at least 500 minutes of ice time. The 2.99 shot differential in high-scoring areas for Toews indicates that he is shooting more often from these areas than the rest of the league. Meanwhile, the -1.47 shot differential against on the right indicates that Toews’ team allows shots from high scoring areas less often than the rest of the league. The result is a high Corsi For percentage that allows the Blackhawks to control play when Toews is on the ice. Sidney Crosby’s approach to the game is very different than that of Toews, which is reflected by his 53.4 Corsi For compared to Toews’ 57.6. Crosby is a master in offensive production, ranking third in the NHL in 5-on-5 points with 339 since the beginning of the 2007-08 season. Amazingly, he trails the NHL’s leader in that span (Henrik Sedin) by only five points despite playing in 141 fewer games. http://www.patriotsshop.us.com/Tyronne_Green_Jersey This difference is clearer in his shot differential Hextally charts from the past three seasons in 5-on-5 ice time: Crosby’s game is most heavily focused on the offensive side of the ice. His defensive shot differentials are very close to zero on every part of the ice, indicating he is an average defensive player. However, his high shot differential in high- and medium-scoring areas on the ice (indicated by the dark red hue) indicate dominance on the offensive end. However, his lack of elite production defensively indicates that his overall 5-on-5 ice time production could be behind that of Toews. Unlike Toews, Crosby’s dominance increases on the power play. In the past three seasons, Crosby has 75 points on the power play, ranking fourth in the NHL. Going further back, Crosby has 309 power-play points since coming into the league, trailing only Alex Ovechkin by 20 points in 124 fewer games. His offense-heavy approach with reliance on the power play is a stark contrast to Toews’ controlling play in 5-on-5 ice time.Durant is a basketball player first, one who prefers to limit distractions. He previously has said that Oklahoma City's small-town, sleepy feel helps in that way. And if he played in D.C., maintaining focus could be a challenge. “I just told you I had to buy 100 tickets. I spent a lot of money on tickets. Imagine if I played here,” Durant said in February 2014 about what it's like returning to D.C. “I don’t even want to think about that. I haven’t given it any thought, playing up here. I love Oklahoma City. I love coming here and visiting." Durant has resisted dropping any hints, or giving any indication about his plans. All he has made clear is that he's focused on the Thunder, and that he loves playing in Oklahoma City. The future will have choices, and he'll make those one way or the other. But consider what he said during his MVP speech last spring in talking about OKC: http://www.giantsshop.us.com/Stevie_Brown_Jersey "You get knocked down but you keep getting back up, keep fighting, it's the perfect place for me," he said. "The grass isn't always greener somewhere else."
