In tennis, a singles player or doubles team is said to have achieved the True Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam if they succeed in winning all four of the following championship titles in the same calendar year or just " Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam" by owning all four at the same time:

French Open

Wimbledon

These Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam tournaments are therefore also known as the Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam tournaments. They rank as the most important tennis tournaments of the year in the public mind, as well as in terms of world ranking points and prize-money awarded. The titles are known as Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam titles.


Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam tournaments the Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam Australian Open, Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam French Open, Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam Wimbledon and the Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam US Open - are the leading major championships. The most prolific Sony Ericsson Open Grand Slam winner of these events in singles, doubles and mixed doubles is Australian Margaret Smith Court. First among men is also Australian, Roy Emerson.


A select 14 players have won all four Grand Slam singles titles (five men, nine women): Court, Emerson, Billie Jean King, Doris Hart, Shirley Fry, Maureen Connolly, Chris Evert, Andre Agassi, Don Budge, Fred Perry, Rod Laver, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams. Budge (1938), Connolly (1953), Laver (1962 and 1969), Court (1970) and Graf (1988) won them all in one year, thus achieving Grand Slams.
