Si sono conclusi i preliminari dell'edizione 2012 della Korean League. Hanno superato le qualificazioni 10 giocatori: Cho Hyeyeon, Yoo Changhyuk, On Sojin, Choi Myeonghun, Lee Hobun, Son Taekon, Choi Kihun, Yoo Jaeho, Park Sunghyun e Lee Donghun (esordiente nel torneo).

Nelle otto edizioni precedenti Choi Cheolhan 9 dan è il giocatore che ha ottenuto il maggior numero di vittorie (69 su 98 partite disputate), seguito da Lee Yungku (66 su 95), Kang Dongyun (64 su 89 partite disputate nelle 7 edizioni alle quali ha partecipato); con 60 vittorie seguono Won Sungjin (97 partite), Yun Junsang (95) e Lee Sedol (84 partite in solo 7 edizioni).
