Left tackle Michael Roos said Monday the Titans did exactly what they needed to do. Coach Mike Munchak said the Titans feel they can adjust to whatever type of defense they face. The Titans simply played keepaway with the offense holding the ball for 34 minutes, 1 second. This franchise ranked last in the NFL with an average time of possession of 27 minutes, 18 seconds last season, and one time of possession only four times in 2012. They hadn't held the ball this long since beating Baltimore on Sept. 18, 2011. The Titans wound up nearly balanced on offense with 125 yards passing. Jake Locker threw only 20 passes and was sacked once with no interceptions in a game where he was more of a manager. Munchak insists he is very confident in his quarterback being able to throw away and win when needed. He said Locker had passed-run options against Pittsburgh and went to the run at times.
