Doppio lutto per Star Trek. A distanza di poche ore l'uno dall'altro, se ne sono andati Lou Scheimer ed Ed Lauter. Il primo è stato co-fondatore della casa di animazione "Filmation" che ha prodotto, tra gli altri, anche la serie animata di Star Trek. Oltre a quegli episodi, la casa produsse anche Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, The Archie Show, Ghostbusters. Lou Scheimer aveva 85 anni.

Addio anche a Ed Lauter, attore che ha lavorato in oltre 200 episodi di serie tv. Tra queste Mannix, The Longest Yard, Family Plot, Magic, Cujo, Born on the Fourth of July, The X-Files, Leaving Las Vegas, ER, Seabiscuit, Cold Case, Psych, The Artist. In Star Trek: The Next Generation, l'attore, che è mancato a 75 anni, aveva impersonato il tenente Albert nell'episodio "Il primo dovere", interamente ambientato sulla Terra e, in particolare, all'accademia della Flotta Stellare. Era il 1992.
