The program, “Venezia,” is predictably heavy on works by Monteverdi, less predictably so on works by Francesco Manelli Just keep an open mind, and revel in the unexpected L’Arpeggiata LE POÈME HARMONIQUE New Yorkers the acquaintance of L’Arpeggiata, a Paris-based ensemble that combines the highest level of early-music artistry and imagination with shifting degrees of theatricality. Ora un altro bel gruppo francese a base di musica antica, che ama inoltre essere eseguita a lume di candela, se non nel buio più totale, riceve la sua più importante esposizione a New York fino ad oggi, che apre la stagione del Miller Theater presso la Columbia University. Il programma, "Venezia", è prevedibilmente pieno sulle opere di Monteverdi, meno prevedibilmente così via sulle opere di Francesco Manelli. Poi di nuovo, Le Poème, come L'Arpeggiata, sembra mettere premio su un po di prevedibilità. Basta tenere la mente aperta, e godersi l'inaspettato..... |
