National Guardsmen fight to hold back flood waters in St. Charles

Flood waters crept closer Thursday night to the top of a levee protecting mbt fields next to Highway 370 in St. Charles where hundreds of children play soccer.
At one end of the St. Louis Youth mbt anti shoe Soccer Association's complex at 3901 Huster Road, teams practiced on soggy fields that had not been used for league games in two weeks — not because of flood waters, but rather because of the amount of rain the area had received, said Steve Krause, a member of the association's board of directors.
At the other end, Missouri National Guard members hoisted sandbags onto the mbt shoes cheap levee.
