How to Improve a Power Tool Battery

Post n°32 pubblicato il 11 Dicembre 2014 da batterydepot

A cordless drill can be an excellent tool for home improvement jobs or commercial jobs. There are many different volt sizes of BOSCH 2 607 335 536 batteries for cordless drill. They come in 9 volt, 12 volt, 18 volt and some 24 volt. Of course, the higher the voltage, the stronger the drill.

Improve a cordless drill battery and make it last longer by charging your battery completely when you first buy a cordless drill. Many people make the mistake of charging it for only 10 or 15 minutes. This actually lowers the life of the battery. Manufacturers recommend a full charge the first time you use a cordless drill because the battery has a memory. If it's not charged completely the first time, the battery's memory will consider that a full charge, and the DEWALT DW945 battery won't last as long as it should on a charge.

Keep your cordless drill battery strong and improve its performance by charging it completely after your battery runs down. The way to tell if your battery is fully charged is to look for a red and green light on the charger. When the red light is on, your battery is charging. When the green light is on, the charger has cut off and your battery is fully charged.

Clean the cordless drill battery contacts as a way to improve its performance. Batteries usually have two contacts (one negative and one hot). Use a rag and clean away any dust or debris on the contacts. Make sure that your cordless drill contacts are also clean of debris.

Know that you can improve a cordless drill battery by upgrading the battery that comes with the drill you've bought. Some companies have started making lithium batteries for your cordless drill. These AEG BBM 18 STX tool batteries are stronger and last longer, therefore you can do more work with less charges.

How to Make a Rechargeable Battery Pack

Post n°31 pubblicato il 05 Dicembre 2014 da batterydepot

AA batteries are probably the most common PANASONIC EY9106 drill battery is use and power electrical items such as flashlights, radios, cameras and many children's toys. Each AA battery has an output of 1.5 volts so if you have an electrical item you want to power that requires a greater voltage, then make an AA battery pack by connecting the batteries in series. You can connect as many batteries as you need, but this article will tell you how to make a 4-cell battery pack providing an output of 6 volts.

Place the four AA batteries together. Ensure the battery terminals alternate so you have two positive (+) and two negative (-) terminals at each end. Wind tape securely around the four AA batteries to form a firm battery pack. Electrical insulating tape works fine. Label the batteries 1 through 4.

Cut five lengths of electrical wire. Two wires need to be long enough to reach the electrical item you want to power: the remaining three wires can be very short as they only connect between the DEWALT DC9096 tool batteries in your AA battery pack.

Strip a little under 1/4-inch of plastic from each end of every wire with a small knife or wire strippers. You need to do this 10 times.

Lay your AA battery pack on its side so you have two positive and two negative terminals to your right and left. The positive terminals of the batteries labeled "1" and "3" should be on your right.

Connect one of the long wires to the positive terminal of battery 1 (on your right). AA batteries do not generally have a fixing so use a small strip of electrical insulating tape to connect the wire to the terminal.

Connect the other long wire to the negative terminal of battery 4 (on the right) using the same method. Connect a small strip of wire to the negative terminal of battery 2 and the other end to the positive terminal of battery 3. Both terminals are on the right.

Connect a short piece of wire to the negative terminal of battery 1 then connect the other end to the positive terminal of battery 2. These terminals are on your left.

Connect the last piece of short wire to the negative terminal of battery 3 and the other end to the positive terminal of battery 4. The terminals are on your left.

If you want to make a larger AA battery pack with an output of 12 volts simply repeat the steps using eight batteries, ensuring you label all the batteries. Effectively you start with the positive terminal that connects to your electrical device, then you alternate negative to positive for each battery until you get to the end. The last wire on the negative terminal of your MAKITA 191679-9 battery pack connects to your device

Connect the long wire fixed to the positive terminal of battery 1 to the positive terminal of your electrical device. Connect the long wire fixed to the negative terminal of battery 4 to the negative terminal of your electrical device. You have made a 4-cell AA battery pack.

Tips for a Cordless Drill Ice Auger

Post n°30 pubblicato il 21 Novembre 2014 da batterydepot

A ice auger is an essential tool for ice fishing. It allows the angler to penetrate the ice, which in some areas can be many feet deep. A power auger can cut through a foot or more of ice within a few seconds. The drill mechanism powers ice shavings up and out of the hole.

Keep the blades on your ice auger sharp. You can sharpen the blades of some models, using a grinding wheel. Others require you to replace the blades entirely. Sharp blades mean faster cutting times and less strain on the ice auger's engine. Don't stand the auger upright on the ice; this will dull the blades. Instead, lay the auger flat. Place it back in the ice sled when you're done using it. When storing the auger, cover the blades with a light coat of grease. This will prevent rusting.

Ice augers are an expensive piece of HITACHI BCL 1415 battery. Protect your investment by placing your auger in a case. For long-term caution, store augers upright. Laying them on their side can cause the drill to warp. You can purchase a stand specifically designed to hold augers. Treat gas augers with a fuel stabilizer at the end of the season. Add the stabilizer according to the manufacturer's instructions, then turn the auger on. When it starts to smoke, turn it off and empty out the old fuel. This will prevent the gasoline from causing a varnish on the inside of the motor.

If you're using an ice sled and pulling it behind you while walking, there's not much to securing an auger. Just secure it so it doesn't tumble out of the sled. A well-designed ice sled will have a spot specifically designed to hold an auger. Things get more tricky when you're using a snowmobile or ATV to cross the ice. Keep the auger securely fastened using shock or drill battery for MAKITA JR180D. Transport ice augers with the gas cap up and the vent screw closed, so your gasoline doesn't drain out all over the ice. Open the vent screw when you drill your holes in the ice.

Test the blades before drilling to make sure they aren't loose. Don't lean into the auger when you're drilling your holes. You want the auger straight up and down. With gasoline ice augers, the weight of the auger alone is enough to drive it through the ice. Just hold the head of the auger so it doesn't rotate, and let the motor and the blades do the work. Hand augers require a bit more force, but hold the auger straight up and press downwards as you PANASONIC EY9200B tool battery. If your blades are sharp, you don't need to apply much pressure.

How to Fix Power Hand Tools

Post n°29 pubblicato il 15 Novembre 2014 da batterydepot

Hand power tools can fail at the times when we least expect them, especially on top of a ladder and on the weekends. In some cases the fix can be as simple as a loose or broken wire. Other repairs may entail the complete break down of the electric motor tool. In most cases the repair to a power hand tool can be performed in less than hour. Acquiring correct parts may take a little longer, particularly on the weekends.

Remove all electrical power from the tool. Inspect the BOSCH 2 607 335 072 battery into. If any signs of insulation break or rotted rubber are seen, the cord must be replaced.

Remove the power tool's housings screws. Typically there are three screws in the handle grip and four to five screws in the main body. Pull the screws and set them to the side. The main housing will now open up into two separate halves.

Lay the two halves at opposing sides to each other, with the top of the tool facing each other. This will give you full visual access to the complete interior of the power tool. Any small gears may be exposed at this time. Make a mental note of their placement.

Turn the ohmmeter on and test the switch. Note that the power cord will be connected to one side of the switch at two separate terminals. Another set of wires will be going to the carbon brushes from the same switch. Place one lead on one side of the switch connector and the other lead from the meter to the opposite side of the switch. Press the switch. The meter should show some resistance. Test the other set of connectors in the same way. If the switch does not show any signs of resistance the switch is bad. Replace the drill battery for MAKITA 8280D.

Test the power cord in the same manner. Hold one lead of the meter to the switch connector and the other lead of the meter to one of the metal prongs on the cord. Test both prongs from the same switch connector. If the meter fails to show any signs of resistance the cord is bad. Replace the cord.

Inspect the carbon brushes. If the brushes are less than ¼ inch in length, they need to be replaced. Clean the copper commutator plates with the emery cloth. You will want a shiny copper color to the individual pates.

Check the condition of the armature windings. If the windings smell burnt or there is any sign of burnt varnish or carbon scorching, the windings are bad. The armature must be replaced the PANASONIC EY9201 battery or rewound.

Apply a small amount of high temperature gear grease to the machine gears. Work the grease into the small crevices of the metal. Inspect the shaft bearings for any sign of wear. In most cases the bearings will last for hundreds of operational hours. Babbitt bearings should have a small amount of grease placed inside before reassembly.

How to Charge and Discharge NiCd Batteries

Post n°28 pubblicato il 30 Ottobre 2014 da batterydepot

Nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries were one of the first types of portable rechargeable battery; there's now nickel metal hydride, lithium ion and lithium polymer available. Each BOSCH 2 607 335 032 battery has positive and negative benefits and a NiCd battery is no different. If you charge and discharge your NiCd battery correctly, you can expect it to last longer than a lithium-based battery, but incorrect charging and discharging can result in your NiCd battery going dead quickly.

Use you NiCd battery to power your electrical device, but ensure you allow the battery to nearly fully discharge before charging. If you see the battery indicator level drop a little and are tempted to put it on charge, resist the urge. Recharging when the battery is nearly full causes an inability to charge correctly.

Check the battery indicator level occasionally and when the level gets to about 20 percent full, put the battery on charge. Place the battery in the charger unit, or if it's an internal NiCd battery, such as cell phone, insert the charging unit's plug into the charge socket on your device. Turn on your charger. Always let the NiCd battery charge until full, and then remove the drill battery for HITACHI EBL 1430 from the charger.

Fully discharge your NiCd battery every six months or so. Find a convenient time to do this since it takes a while. Let your device operate until it stops or turns off. Don't recharge the battery at this time; leave the battery for an hour or so then turn on your device. It operates for a while. Repeat this a couple more times, until it doesn't turn on. This means your NiCd battery is totally discharged.

Put your battery on charge once it's totally discharged. Let it charge until the battery is at full capacity. This takes time, but the process of fully discharging and recharging restores your NiCd MILWAUKEE LokTor P 18 TX battery to near its original condition.
