Paola Caio vive a Malavicina, in provincia di Mantova. Il 14 ottobre scorso verso l’ora di pranzo l’hanno chiamata a casa e le hanno detto che la figlia Monica, 31 anni, era morta. All’obitorio ha fatto fatica a riconoscerla. Monica aveva 140 ferite, mandibola, costole e diverse altre ossa rotte, milza spappolata e la pancia piena di sangue. L’avevano trovata all’alba a casa sua, dissanguata. Se Giampaolo Regazzini con cui viveva da quasi 15 anni dopo averla pestata avesse chiamato un’ambulanza, forse si sarebbe salvata. Invece per ore lui ha cercato di trascinarla in garage – forse per caricarla in macchina e liberarsi del corpo. Delle ultime ore di vita di Monica restano molte testimonianze. La sera prima lui era uscito con gli amici e lei era andata a cercarlo in un locale di lap dance. Ci sono le immagini di una telecamera che riprende il loro incontro, o meglio il primo pestaggio che Monica ha subito. Tornata a casa ha chiamato attraverso il 113 i carabinieri di Verona, sapeva che il peggio sarebbe arrivato all’ora in cui lui sarebbe rincasato. Al 113 invece di intervenire hanno solo cercato di rassicurarla. Per 26 minuti. Non era la prima volta che Ragazzini alzava le mani contro Monica. In passato i vicini hanno chiesto aiuto ai carabinieri. Quel giorno no. Tre volte su quattro quando una donna è uccisa dal marito c’è una lunga storia di maltrattamenti. Ma questo non lo scrive mai nessuno. Paola racconta il calvario di sua figlia e si capisce che non riuscirà mai a perdonarsi di non essere riuscita a intervenire in tempo, di non essere riuscita a salvarla. Forse è per questo che ha cominciato a cercare le madri delle ragazze che hanno fatto la fine di sua figlia e si è accorta che solo nella zona dove abita ce ne sono diverse. |
