Berlino, 16 ago. - (Adnkronos/Dpa) - I mondiali di calcio del 2022 che saranno ospitati dal Qatar potrebbero giocarsi in inverno, e' quanto affermato dal vice presidente della Fifa Ali bin Al Hussein al quotidiano tedesco 'Tagesspiegel'. "Credo sarebbe meglio giocarli d'inverno. Questo e' qualcosa che gli organizzatori devono ancora decidere", ha aggiunto il vicepresidente giordano sottolineando come non vede comunque la necessita' di stravolgere i programmi dei campionati europei: "In queste nazioni c'e' gia' la pausa invernale". Anche se in realta' non e' cosi' ovunque, in Gran Bretagna c'e' una pausa ma solo virtuale, in Spagna lo stop e' di due settimane, in Germania invece la pausa e' di 5 settimane, un break che potrebbero coincidere con il mese dedicato ai Campionati del mondo.
PECHINO/TOKYO (Reuters) - Il Giappone ha deciso di espellere gli attivisti cinesi sbarcati su un'isola contesa tra Tokyo e Pechino nel mezzo di una disputa territoriale, ha scritto oggi l'agenzia di stampa giapponese Kyodo, in un mossa che potrebbe alleggerire la tensione tra le due principali economie dell'Asia.
La disputa sulle isole nella zona orientale del Mar della Cina - che riguarda sia le rivendicazioni territoriali seguite all'occupazione giapponese della Cina durante la II Guerra Mondiale sia una contesa sulle fonti energetiche - ha logorato le relazioni tra i due paesi. Oggi la Cina aveva rinnovato l'appello a rilasciare i 14 attivisti arrestati "immediatamente e senza condizioni".
La vicenda dello sbarco di ieri, che ha coinciso col 67esimo anniversario della fine della guerra, è parallela alle tensioni tra Cina e alcuni paesi del Sudest asiatico su una serie di rivendicazioni territoriali nel sud del Mar della Cina.
Sette degli attivisti arrestati hanno piantato la bandiera cinese su un isolotto disabitato, provocando le proteste del Giappone.
Il timore è che la Cina possa impiegare la forza militare per sostenere le proprie rivendicazioni.
Secondo gli esperti, però, sia Pechino che Tokyo vogliono raffreddare la tensione, dati i loro rapporti economici.

DETROIT (Reuters) - Chrysler ha annunciato che, nonostante i lavoratori dello stabilimento di Dundee (Michigan) abbiano respinto il contratto di lavoro, non ci saranno effetti sulla produzione dei motori.
E' quanto spiegato dal portavoce di Chrysler Jodi Tinson.
I motori prodotti nello stabilimento sono utilizzati in vari modelli, inclusi la Dodge Dart e la the Fiat 500.
"Avevamo raggiunto un accordo provvisorio con i sindacati e ci aspettavamo venisse ratificato", ha detto Tinson. "Ora spetta al sindacato capire cosa fare".
Il Detroit News ha scritto che il 73% dei lavoratori ha votato contro il contratto.
Gli stabilimenti rappresentati dal sindacato United Auto Workers hanno dei contratti di lavoro specifici, che coprono alcune questioni e integrano il contratto nazionale di quattro anni, approvato lo scorso autunno.
