John Boehner, youve got mail! New speaker releases his e-mail address to the public
Time to update your email contact list.Speaker of the House John Boehner has established a direct e-mail address. It’s SpeakerBoehner@mail.house.gov.
News of Boehner’s new e-mail address is noteworthy because most members of Congress merely have web forms through which to “e-mail” a congressman.
Roll Call, reporting on the story,that congressmen typically block web form-submitted e-mails from outside of their districts.
Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a direct e-mail address five years ago.Roll Call quoted Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill speculating that the popularity of Pelosi’s e-mail account inspired the new Boehner address.
