Russia, Volgograd torna Stalingrado in giornate celebrazioni battaglia
Mosca (Russia), 31 gen. (LaPresse/AP) - Volgograd torna al vecchio nome Stalingrado, ma solo sei giorni all'anno. La citt in cui si svolse la battaglia decisiva per l'esito della seconda guerra mondiale sar di nuovo nota con il nome dell'epoca quando si svolgeranno le commemorazioni legate alla vittoria dell'Armata rossa contro i nazisti. La decisione č stata presa dal consiglio comunale di Volgograd, che ha approvato oggi una misura che prevede l'uso del nome Stalingrado nelle dichiarazioni fatte dalle autorit locali nel giorno dell'anniversario della battaglia (che cade sabato), nella Giorno della Vittoria festeggiata in Russia il 9 maggio e in altre quattro date legate alla battaglia. Sabato ricorre il 70esimo anniversario della battaglia e in citt sono in programma diverse cerimonie. Nel 1961 il nome della citt fu cambiato in Volgograd ai sensi delle politiche del presidente sovietico Nikita Krusciov, mirate a sradicare il culto della personalit di Stalin. Il nome Stalingrado sopravvivve tuttavia nella denominazione della battaglia, in cui persero la vita almeno 1,25 milioni di persone.
