Registrations are now being accepted for the Black Lake Fishing Derby. The fishing derby will be held on April 27, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. There is no cost to participate in the event.

Check-in for the fishing derby and a free pancake breakfast, courtesy of New Life Church, is at 7 a.m. The last registration is at 9:45 a.m., and final fish weigh-in will be at 10 a.m., followed by awards and a prize drawing. Hot dogs and refreshments donated by local area businesses will also be served by Carl and Terry Larson starting at 10 a.m. All participants of the fishing derby will receive a free t-shirt (guaranteed only with pre-registration) designed by logo contest winner Avary Murray, a second grader at Long Beach Elementary School, and a free gift courtesy of Ilwaco Fire Department. In addition to receiving a gift and having her logo design featured on the event T-shirts, Avary has been invited by the Ilwaco Fire Department to ride on the fire truck in both Loyalty Days Parades.
