Piaggio Aero: con Selex ES annuncia nuovo velivolo a pilotaggio remoto
(ASCA) - Roma, 18 feb - Piaggio Aero Industries e Selex ES, societa' del gruppo Finmeccanica, hanno presentato oggi ad IDEX 2013, il salone della difesa e della sicurezza in corso ad Abu Dhabi, il nuovo velivolo a pilotaggio remoto (VPR) Piaggio Aero P.1HH ''HammerHead'' Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Il programma P.1HH ''HammerHead'' ha come obbiettivo lo sviluppo di un sistema aereo a pilotaggio remoto (APR o UAS - Unmanned Aerial System) ad elevate performance operative per missioni di sorveglianza, intelligence e ricognizione (ISR). Il Piaggio Aero P.1HH ''HammerHead'' e' un velivolo capace di decollo e atterraggio automatico (ATOL Automatic Take Off and Landing) che si posizione nella fascia alta dei velivoli a pilotaggio remoto MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance). L'UAV puo' raggiungere la quota di 13.700 metri con una permanenza in volo di oltre 16 ore. La missione e' gestita da una stazione di terra , collegata attraverso un sistema di comunicazione in linea di vista (Line of Sight - LS) e via satellite oltre la linea di vista (Beyond Line of Sight - LOS) che consente il controllo remoto dei sistemi di navigazione e di missione dell'aeromobile. ''Il P.1HH HammerHead e' certamente il piu' importante e ambizioso progetto di Piaggio Aero e proietta l'azienda verso il settore dei sistemi aerei a pilotaggio remoto impiegati in missioni di ssorveglianza e controllo - ha dichiarato Alberto Galassi Amministratore Delegato di Piaggio Aero -. I sistemi unmanned rappresentano il futuro della sicurezza aerea, terrestre e marittima per la loro versatilita' di impiego operativo''.
