One of the ports was Playa Del Carmen

I also love my two cousins looking down to see what's going on and my cute lil' Lola making sure he is doing it right. The flower girls pictured are holding the bridesmaids' bouquets and I'm swooning over it! So can't wait wedding favours to share our beautiful winery wedding with all of you. Waiting to start recaps is definitely one of the hardest facets of being a bee! How long after your wedding did you wait for your professional photos? Was it totally worth your wait?

Shells On The Beach: Our Honeymoon (The End!) wedding dresses After six ridiculously lazy days at anniversary dresses the Aventura Spa Palace, we kicked it up a notch and spent the remaining 4 days of our honeymoon at the PlayaCar Palace in Playa Del Carmen. Mr. Seashell and I gave the property a quick once-over and were immediately pumped. Aventura Spa Palace was more of a “resort property” and PlayaCar Palace felt more like an urban, trendy, hotel. It was the perfect way to wrap up our trip. {source} {source} After getting settled, we had an immediate order of business: locate latest fashion “that place.” You see, the first trip Mr. Seashell and I ever took (after a mere 8 weeks of dating!) was a cruise.

One of the ports was Playa Del Carmen, and during our stay we found this fabulous little restaurant where we had to-die-for-margaritas, guacamole, and fajitas. It was our mission to return while on our honeymoon. One part for nostalgia, one part for the eats. We searched, and searched. Every restaurant we saw from afar we'd get all excited, wedding photo and then realize it wasn't the one. We were starting to get discouraged—but alas!—there it was. Just as we had remembered. We immediately ordered our beloved margaritas. To-die-for margaritas? Apparently this bee thought so too. We fished it out and drank anyway. Mr. Seashell called these “our really embarrassing tourist sized glasses” …but we tossed them back no problem For the next few days we enjoyed the pool and beach, did some light shopping on Playa Del Carmen's 5th Avenue, and soaked in the long, wedding cakes warm nights.

Then, on one of our last nights, Mr. Seashell recommended we check out Coco Bongo. Not really knowing what to expect, I agreed. All I can say was: IT WAS A PARTY. It's one part live show, one part explosion of confetti and balloons, one part place where your liver goes to die. It was awesome and ridiculous. After 4 attempts by the staff to get me to dance on the stage, I finally agreed. Don't I look miserable? And winter wedding ideas there you have it. Thanks for hanging in there through our honeymoon recaps! I have a few more posts to share while I wait on pro pics and then I'll get going on RECAPS! Woo hoo! (P.S. The next day while laying at the pool I remembered the Cheeseburgers also hit Coco Bongo while on their honeymoon too. Holla, Cheeseburger!) If you've seen any great DIY around the hive and think it should Celebrity Weddings be featured, feel free to email us at cathy at weddingbee dot com! Meeting Our Florist and Coming Back to Reality wedding dresses Remember my recent post on bouquet inspiration and our first meeting with our florist???

Well, we had our meeting, and it was bittersweet. Sweet because we finally got to talk about the flowers we wanted and vintage wedding invitations finally began to see the vision of our day take form; bitter because making our dreams match our budget was a long stretch. Really long. See, I had always imagined we'd have tall centerpieces that looked something like this: Source We wouldn't have all tall centerpieces, though. I KNEW that'd be too expensive. We'd mix the tall with shorter ones, like this wedding did: Source I even considered the idea of having clusters, like this: Source Source Source Source Well, it turns out everything we wanted would short evening dresses have cost a fortune, and we can't get it all. The first thing to go were the tall centerpieces we envisioned. Ugh.

The thing is: I'm not picky. I don't even care what kinds of flowers we have. I just wanted a few tall centerpieces because I think our venue needs that. Our venue is grand, and we needed something visually pleasing for the reception. I guess the florist started to see the disappointment in my face, and we made a wedding dresses deal. It turns out the time of year we’re getting married (the spring) is my saving grace,?because?of cherry blossoms. They're abundant in this area and she promised if they were in bloom, half of our tables would have tall, cherry blossom centerpieces. YAY! It's a good thing cherry blossoms are pink, because otherwise we might have a problem. Since they are one of our colors, and they stand tall, I don't mind adjusting our vision to include this popular springtime affordable wedding dresses flower. Who knows? Cherry blossoms might look BETTER than roses would have! Of course, as soon as the meeting was over I ran home to Google “Cherry Blossom Centerpieces.” The result got me kind of excited, too! Let's just hope they're in bloom, because (I have to check with the florist, but) I think the alternative is curly willows.

Source As for the clusters—they're doable. Yippee! Our florist, who also happens to own a farm, is going to pick fresh flowers from Mother Of The Bride Dresses her garden and fill our vases with bouquets of the same flower! I CANNOT wait to see this come to life. I've been dreaming about it, for at least a year now! And the buffet and escort table displays? Well, they'll have to be DIY. The mantel flowers, outdoor flowers, and any others will have to be, too. Am I upset? Not in the least. I am extremely happy we can at least afford bouquets and centerpieces. How did your first quinceanera dresses meeting with the florist go??Are you getting all the flowers you wanted for your wedding?

If not, what kind of compromises did you make? Officially Being Teased wedding dresses The anticipation is killing me! Seriously, I love our photographer and I'm more than happy to wait for his finished product, but the teasers he sends me are driving fall fashions me crazy! The first series is of when I opened my wedding gift from Mr. B (which, I admit, I had an idea of what it was). The second photo speaks for itself. How rad are John's purple socks?!

I knew that there were new dresses out online wedding dresses there in the style I wanted—I had found pictures of this Priscilla of Boston dress online, and had been drooling over them regularly! We'll see how well the search turned out next! Did anyone else have very firm ideas from the start? Did you stick to those ideas, or did they melt away? P.S. If I were still looking at Posh Girl Vintage for my dress, I'd be obsessing over these babies: Pink! Streamers on the shoulders! Irises. I love the idea of prom dresses a patterned dress!

I didn't think wedding cookies I wanted white

The flower girls pictured are holding the bridesmaids' bouquets and I'm swooning over it! So can't wait to share our beautiful winery wedding with all of you. Waiting to start recaps is wedding mapper definitely one of the hardest facets of being a bee! How long after your wedding did you wait for your professional photos? Was it totally worth your wait? Search for The Dress: What I Thought I Wanted wedding dresses After getting engaged in San Francisco, we eventually had to fly home. I wanted to extend our vacation and homecoming dress stay there, oh, a few months, but we both had work waiting for us. On the plane home, I was flipping channels on the TV to get to my customary Food Network (we don't have it at home, so I need to get my Iron Chef fix where I can!) and I found a show that had ladies in wedding dresses. I stopped.

I watched my first episode of Say Yes To The Dress. And then I watched 3 wedding bouquet more, because it was a marathon! Was this a sign, or what? After watching for a couple hours, I thought I'd decided some things: I did not want a ball gown. I'm only 5'3″ and I'd feel like it would be eating me. I wouldn’t be the bride that went in with a set budget, then tried on something twice the budget, then begged her parents to come up with the money. I also thought I wanted a vintage, tea-length dress. It was all wedding venue the rage on wedding blogs, and looked so romantic, and you could show off cute shoes! I love shoes! These were a couple of my inspirations/aspirations (click on the photos to be taken to the sources!): Gorgeous Vintage Dress Doily Dress! I loved that look, and that was what I wanted. Period. I started searching vintage sites, mainly Posh Girl Vintage, and found a few contenders (long since sold, sorry!): I wasn't necessarily searching in their wedding dress category, because I didn't think wedding cookies I wanted white, either. I loved the lacy one with the interesting neckline because it was different, and I loved the yellow one because I immediately had the perfect accessories in mind: A bolero from Bonzie (I've been coveting one of these for at least a year!), and Frye Maya Vintage Stud shoes, which I'd already drooled over at my local shoe store, Gravity Pope.

Plus, I was also set on a birdcage veil—set enough that it was birdcage or nothing, elegant trouser suits in my mind. I loved these two dresses butit's hard to buy vintage online. Buying new is easy but I feel that I need to inspect vintage things closely. I want to feel them in my hands, and check with my own eyes for stains and rips. So, I didn't buy them. I really wanted to, but mum booked a trip to come visit a couple weeks after we got back from San Francisco, and I knew she'd want Wedding Themes to go dress shopping, and I did kind of want to go and try on hilariously enormous dresses and laugh.

I also wanted to share that experience with my mum, as she doesn't live in the same city as we do. I thought it would be fun to play dress-up. I also looked forward to the chance to try on some tea-length gowns in person, and maybe even find The One.
