Post n°58 pubblicato il 10 Agosto 2011 da twice1

AFP - The head of the party of former President Laurent Gbagbo and 11 figures in his camp, under house arrest since April, were charged with endangering the security of the state, officials said Wednesday from the floor Abidjan.

This brings to nearly forty the number of defendants in the ranks of the fallen regime on April 11 after four months of deadly post-election crisis.

The new president Alassane Ouattara this weekend "reached out" to Gbagbo, including exiled in Ghana, but the parties have again demanded the release of their companions.

The President of the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), Pascal Affi N'Guessan, the son of Laurent Gbagbo, the Ivorian Michel Franco-Gbagbo, and five others under house arrest in Bouna (Northeast) have been charged in recent days, told AFP Je Christmas, acting spokesman of the prosecution of Abidjan.

Five others, under house arrest in Katiola (center), whose former leader of the "patriotic women" pro-Gbagbo, Genevieve Bro Grebe, and the former minister Jean-Jacques Béchio, were charged Tuesday, he continued.

Now in custody at the same sites, the 12 defendants are accused of "undermining national defense" of "conspiracy against state authority", "formation of armed bands", "participation in a movement insurgency "and" rebellion ", said Je.

Twenty-six pro-Gbagbo had already been charged with endangering the security of the state or economic crimes and are held mainly in Boundiali (north). They include former Prime Minister Gilbert Aké N'Gbo and several former ministers.

Laurent Gbagbo's wife Simone and remain under house arrest, one in Korhogo (north) and the other Odienné (northwest). They still have not been charged.

Ivorian Justice has launched several international arrest warrants, to include Charles Ble Goude, a leader of the former power and leader of "Young Patriots" pro-Gbagbo.

Laurent Gbagbo was arrested April 11 by the pro-Ouattara, supported by France and the United Nations, after four months of crisis, including two weeks of war, born of her refusal to concede defeat in the presidential election of November 2010 . The crisis has left at least 3,000 dead.
