I agree with the writer of the March 25 letter, “Opening football jersey online of s. marina endangers walleyes,” addressing the opening of the south marina inlet at Willard Bay.
I called the Northern Division of Wildlife Resources and was told they were under a lot of pressure to open the inlet. I don’t know who would pressure them to do this. I am sure it wasn’t cheap nfl jerseys from china anyone who understands the spawning habits of walleye.
Walleye very seldom hit lures while they are spawning. When you see people fishing the inlet with lures using gigantic treble hooks, you know they are trying to snag the fish. This only interrupts the spawning. Walleye are one of the few fish that reproduce without having to be purchased to plant in Utah waters by Wildlife Resources.
