Asked Wednesday, October 9 on the fate of the hostages kidnapped on June 6 in Syria, Europe 1 reporter Didier François and photographer Edward Elias, Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault revealed that Two other French were also held in the country.

While families Nicolas Henin and Pierre Torres disappeared June 22 in the city of Raqqa in the north of Syria, had hitherto preferred silence to facilitate negotiations the head of the government has accelerated and has released the names of these two journalists on the Europe 1 antenna.

Nicolas Henin, 37, is the head office of the news agency Solas Movies in Africa and the Middle East for seven years. Graduated from the Institute of Journalism practice Paris (IPJ), he covered the region as a correspondent for Arte, Le Point or Radio France.

Photographer Peter Torres, 29, has covered the Libyan revolution and was on his second visit to Syria.

Mobilization of families

Taken aback by this announcement by the Prime Minister, relatives of the two hostages who had contact about that Sunday, October 13 at the Prix Bayeux for war correspondents, were finally expressed on Wednesday.

"It's been more than three months, almost four, he was kidnapped, we his family his friends find it very long time for us and especially for him. We decided today to send a message to Nicolas, his captors and any authority or person that can influence those who hold and intercede for her release, "and said Pierre-Yves Henin, the father of Nicolas on FRANCE 24.

"We know that the situation Nicolas is a grain of sand at the immensity of the tragedy that struck the Syrian people, but that grain of sand is ours and we want" , has he added.

In a statement, the families of the two journalists said they had received proof of life in August, but they had no details on their location and conditions detention. "There is no claim known to date. Various armed groups fighting for control of the city of Raqqa and it is not certain that the two journalists are still in the city, "it said in this document ....... ..

In recent months, the families of Nicolas Henin and Pierre Tori chose to remain silent "hoping for a quick settlement." But after waiting, they now want to "send them a message and tell them they are mobilized quickly to secure their release." Relatives of the two journalists now associate with the committee's "Hostages in Syria," also mobilized for the release of Didier François and Edward Elias.
