(Billboard Publicity Wire) August 18, 2010 -- Dance club DJs everywhere report that club-goers can’t get enough of Zayra’s “V.I.P.’ but are requesting it by its mischievous lyrical hook line, “my father is Mick Jagger.” Zayra’s hot new single, from Brando Records, is lighting up dance floors across the country as it jumps this week to #14 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club chart.
“V.I.P.” has exploded up the charts in the past month, fueled by slamming remixes from three of the hottest DJ/Producers in the country, Dave Aude, DJ Mike Rizzo, and DJ Paulo and Alain Jackinsky.
Grammy®-nominated Dave Aude has dominated the dance charts for the past 14 years and his remixing credits have garnered him 45 Hot Dance Club Play #1’s (Billboard), 18 alone in 2009. DJ Mike Rizzo’s track record is equally as impressive and he has topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart 30 times with his progressive house stylings.
Zayra (pr. Zay-eeda), whose fiery passion for music is equally matched by her fervent enthusiasm for fashion, will be fusing her two loves into a captivating new live show, Baby Likes to Bang, which is also the title of her new EP, due out on September 14, 2010.Baby Likes to Bang, an arousing mélange of dance, fashion, and theater, will be fittingly introduced with a performance during the Austin Fashion Awards, August 21, at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Zayra will take her show on the road in August, September and October with performances in clubs and at Fashion Week events in NYC, Asbury Park, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more.
Millions of people worldwide will remember Puerto Rican-born Zayra from the CBS-TV reality show, Rockstar Supernova. The premise of the show was to find the lead singer for a rock supergroup whose members included Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (Metallica) and Gilbey Clarke (Guns N’ Roses). Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke hosted the rock n’ roll alternative to American Idol. The Los Angeles Times dubbed Zayra, “Rockstar’s most intriguing contestant” and “an aspiring rock goddess…she’s Ziggy Stardust’s long lost Caribbean cousin.”
