Tumori: allarme Fadoi su amianto, colpite 4 donne su 10 mai esposte
Roma, 9 nov. (Adnkronos Salute) - I tumori legati all'amianto, (mesoteliomi pleurici) non conoscono differenze di genere e di territorio. Colpiscono sempre di piu' anche le donne, e senza cause certe: quasi 4 malate su 10 non hanno subito un'esposizione all'amianto professionale "certa, probabile o possibile". L'allarme arriva dal X Congresso regionale della Federazione delle associazioni dei dirigenti ospedalieri internisti (Fadoi Lombardia), organizzato oggi a Vigevano (Pv), che ha affrontato problemi di carattere organizzativo oltre che le problematiche mediche legate al mesotelioma pleurico maligno.
Dai dati emerge che su 6.603 pazienti archiviati al Registro nazionale mesoteliomi, l'81% degli uomini ha subito un'esposizione professionale all'amianto comprovata e il 14% ha avuto un'esposizione improbabile o sconosciuta, il 33% delle donne e' stato esposto per motivi di lavoro, il 15% ha avuto un'esposizione familiare, ma ben il 37% non ha indicazioni di una documentata esposizione professionale a fibre di asbesto. Non solo, la spada di Damocle dell'amianto e delle patologie correlate non grava purtroppo solo sugli abitanti di Taranto, al centro delle cronache di queste ultime settimane, ma anche su quelli di molte Regioni del Nord Italia, caratterizzate da tassi di mortalita' per mesotelioma pleurico superiori a quelli nazionali.
In particolare sono ben 122 i Comuni esposti a inquinamento ambientale da asbesto in Piemonte, Lombardia, Veneto e Friuli: il tasso d'incidenza del tumore, secondo i dati del registro nazionale mesoteliomi, molto elevato e compreso tra 18,4 e 98,3 casi per 100mila abitanti.
