D.C. Douglas, voice over, film and TV actor, was tapped for tag announcing duties on Radio Shack’s “Holiday Hero” television campaign.

, voice over, film and TV actor, was tapped for tag announcing duties on Radio Shack’s “Holiday Hero” television campaign. The spots feature everyday folks handing gifts to loved ones only to be suddenly transformed into unique Holiday Heroes.Then Mr. Douglas chimes in with his heroic voice over tag. “I love these spots,” says Mr. Douglas, “they’re funny and fantastical with a huge wink in the eye.Plus, vocally, I get to revel in announcer cheese.”

The campaign comes at the end of a very productive year for Mr. Douglas, both as an actor and voice over artist. In January, Mr. Douglas guest starred on CBS’ “Criminal Minds” as a grieving father. That was followed by the release of an Electronic Arts blockbuster video game, “Mass Effect 2,” featuring Mr. Douglas as the popular Legion. He was kept busy on camera in March with a series of comedic commercials for Gesa Credit Union as a rude, selfish businessman named Big Bank. Work in front of the camera continued in April as he played the captain of a doomed ship in the Asylum cult film, “Titanic II." In May, Mr. Douglas’ film short, “The Crooked Eye,” starring Academy Award winner Linda Hunt, was picked up by IndiePix and Shorts International. Behind the microphone, he also voiced several videos for MediaMatters.org throughout the year.

As for video games, Mr. Douglas voiced characters for six titles that will be released in 2011.An NDA prevents him from naming many of them. “But I can tell you that I'm in ‘MotorStorm: Apocalypse’ and I play numerous small roles in ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.’The others, however, have to remain a mystery because of some very antsy lawyers somewhere!”

Mr. Douglas recently moved over to AVO Talent (310-360-7680) for voice over. The House Of Representatives (310-451-2345) handles him for film and TV.
