A 48-year-old Newark woman bought five instant game tickets at Acme #2680 in Newark, Delaware. One of the tickets she bought was Money to Burn and the ticket was one of the game’s top $250,000 prizes.
“It’s exciting to see the state’s second $250,000 instant game winning ticket go on sale this year,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery Department. “A Pennsylvania man received $250,000 in January and $250,000.”
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was with her daughter when she found out she had won. “We couldn’t believe it,” the woman said. “I scratched the ticket and I was so surprised. We went and scanned it just to check.”
