Victor Wembanyama San Antonio Spurs was unanimously selected as the winner of the NBA Rookie of the Year award for the 2023-2024 season.
The NBA secretariat said on Monday that Wembanyama topped the list with 99 votes, earning 495 points. Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder followed Wembanyama with 295 points, receiving 98 second-place votes and one third-place vote.
Wembanyama is the sixth NBA Rookie of the Year vote after Ralph Sampson in 1984, David Robinson in 1990, Blake Griffin in 2011, Damian Lillard the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013, and Carl Anthony Towns the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2016.
Wembanyama, who joined San Antonio as the top draft pick, played in 71 games during his debut season and maintained an average of 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 blocks.
