Genting Malaysia Bhd, operator of Malaysia’s only casino complex resort World Genting, said the company had recently been alerted to “fake news” linking it to online gaming services, which was circulated via “unauthorized social media platforms and web links.”
The company issued the warning in a notice posted on Resort World Gaining’s official website. The company did not elaborate on what was mentioned in the message that filed the complaint.
However, it said, “Genting Malaysia Bhd (GENM) recently learned about fake news from unauthorized social media platforms and web links that were reportedly linked to star media groups regarding online gaming.”
“We would like to stress that GENM is not involved in or related in any way to these online gaming sites or announcements. Please do not trust these links and refrain from distributing them,” the casino operator said.
The company also advised the public to use only the company’s official website and Resort World Genting Real Estate website when checking on matters related to the casino group.
Resorts World Genting is Malaysia’s only casino resort complex based in the Genting Highlands.
Genting Malaysia also operates casinos in the U.S., Bahamas, the U.K. and Egypt, but typically gets most of its revenue from Malaysian businesses.
