(LaPresse/AP) - Passato e presente si sono incontrati al salone dell'auto di Detroit, quando ieri un ologramma di Thomas Edison è stato creato allo stand della Via Motors, compagnia americana che produce furgoni e fuoristrada elettrici. Mentre l'ologramma promuoveva i veicoli elettrici e ne illustrava il potenziale, sul palco c'era anche l'attuale presidente di Via Motors, Bob Lutz, ex dirigente di General Motors che guidò il progetto della Chevy Volt. "Grazie mille signor Edison, le assicuro che non la deluderemo", ha detto Lutz all'ologramma. "Quella conversazione mi è parsa molto reale", ha poi raccontato Lutz dopo la presentazione. "Mi sento come se fossimo vecchi amici", ha aggiunto. Il dialogo con Edison è stato preceduto dall'esibizione di due trapeziste, che ha riscosso molti applausi. Non è la prima volta che Lutz si lascia andare a curiose presentazioni ai saloni. Nel 1992, quando era alla Chrysler, guidò infatti una Jeep Grand Cherokee attraverso una grossa vetrata.
