On the basis of the indications and of the analyses carried out by Mr. Diego BARATONO on the archaeological area of El Giza defined as “Third Level”, I acquired the “Quick bird” multi-spectral high-resolution satellite image of the area (1/4 m resolution).
The image was analysed at the image analysis lab of the Università del Piemonte Orientale in the various spectral bands. Specifically in the infrared representation, traces have been found corresponding to the indications acquired in situ.
A regular trapezoidal structure is evidenced, in a symmetrical position to the Sphinx with reference to the centre of the pyramid of Kefren and exactly in the position where a hypogeal structure is assumed to be, as well as several other traces which testify to the anthropization of the surrounding area.
A survey on site could clarify the nature of the signatures the satellite image reveals.
