Sentenced to 3828 years in prison, a militant ETA released

 

The Spanish court decided Tuesday, October 22, to release the militant ETA, the Basque separatist group, Ines Del Rio Prada. She was sentenced to 3 828 years in prison, but a decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), would force Spain to release dozens of prisoners.

The Court of the National Court in Madrid ordered the release of activist, aged 55 and 24 convicted of murder in several attacks by the armed group se Basque paratiste. Detained in a prison in La Coruña, Galicia, in northwestern Spain, it must be released in the day Tuesday.

Born in the town of Tafalla, Navarra, Inez Del Rio, known by the nicknames "Nieves" or "La Pequeña" ("Little"), joined in the mid 1980 Madrid commando of ETA, one of the deadliest of the organization.

Arrested in 1987

It should have been released in 2017, after serving 30 years in prison, the maximum penalty in Spain at the time of his conviction.
