Vela: Bertelli, Luna Rossa vuole piu' sicurezza in America's Cup
Alameda, 18 mag. - (Adnkronos) - ''Ci vuole piu' sicurezza, servono nuove regole per andare avanti. In questo momento nulla e' chiaro''. Patrizio Bertelli, patron di Luna Rossa, chiede una svolta nell'organizzazione dell'America's Cup 2013. Il drammatico incidente che ha coinvolto il team Artemis Racing, provocando la morte di Andrew Simpson, rende indispensabile una riflessione complessiva e provvedimenti immediati. ''E' trascorsa una settimana dalla tragedia di Artemis, pensiamo sia opportuno fare il punto sulla America's Cup. Questa competizione ha sempre vissuto momenti burrascosi, ma quello che e' accaduto e' molto piu' grave di quanto e' successo in passato'', dice Bertelli, accompagnato da tutto il team, in una conferenza tenuta nel quartier generale di Alameda, in California.
''Siamo convinti che si debba rimanere fedeli alla classe AC72 -chiarisce-. Ora, la domanda e': cosa possiamo fare ora? Tre giorni dopo l'incidente di Artemis abbiamo inviato una nostra proposta agli organizzatori e a tutti i team''. ''Il primo aspetto riguarda la sicurezza: dotare gli equipaggi di protezioni piu' adeguate, come caschi, e pensare ad ogni attivita' per le gestione delle emergenze. Bisogna pianificare tutti gli aspetti organizzativi a terra e in mare, con idroambulanza, elicottero, sommozzatori e paramedici'', dice illustrando la posizione di Luna Rossa.
''L'altro intervento riguarda il limite del vento: proponiamo di scendere dai 25-28 nodi (della Louis Vuitton Cup, ndr) a 20 nodi, mentre per l'America's Cup ne proponiamo 25 al posto dei 33 previsti dall'attuale protocollo. Riteniamo che vada considerata poi la sospensione della regata se il vento, alla partenza, supera il limite di 2 nodi'', prosegue Bertelli.
