EUROPEAN MEETING OF CENTERS OF INDEPENDENT LIVING
Valencia, October 26th-28th, 2006
"CIL= EMPOWERING"

Next October will be held the European Meeting of Centers of Independent
Living in Spain. This event will be organized by the European Network on
Independent Living (ENIL) through its new Secretariat in Valencia.
It will take place in October, from Thursday the 26th until Saturday the
28th in the Mediterranean city of Valencia. This event will have the
support of the Valencian Government.

For ENIL, the main aim of this meeting is enhancing the European CILs
network, in order to find common strategies to develop IL and to
strengthen the IL movement in Europe. That's why ENIL would like to bring
together those IL activists working in CILs from all Europe: to exchange
ideas, experiences and
good practice. If that is your case, please, join us. Your experience and
suggestions will be extremely important for other colleagues. It is
important to strengthen our
links now when the Commission is keen on supporting and developing 
community
living based alternatives and Independent Living as an alternative to
institutions. It is also good at the moment to be united when many EU
member states are cutting back the resources supporting disabled people 
led
organisations
