Palermo, 31 mag.- (Adnkronos) - L'Auriga di Mozia e' a Londra e domani pomeriggio, nel salone del Partenone al British Museum, diventera' uno dei testimonial delle prossime Olimpiadi che si svolgeranno nella capitale inglese. La mostra "Winning at the Ancient game", dedicata interamente ai Giochi che si concludera' il 9 settembre, mette in scena una collezione di dodici statue il cui filo conduttore sara' la vittoria. Tra queste, sculture dell'antica Grecia e di Roma, e ovviamente l'Auriga di Mozia, celebrata anche nel sito internet del British - che per la prima volta espone quest'opera - come "un'opera magnifica e uno dei migliori esempi classici in marmo greco".
"Una delle statue piu' belle del mondo - ha sottolineato l'assessore regionale ai Beni culturali e all'Identita' siciliana, Sebastiano Missineo - verra' esposta in uno dei piu' importanti musei internazionali in occasione di un evento planetario come le olimpiadi.
L'auriga di Mozia diventera' il testimonial del patrimonio artistico e culturale siciliano e, grazie all'accordo tra la Regione e il British sara' avviato un programma di scambi che arricchira' l'offerta delle nostre istituzioni museali nei prossimi cinque anni. Mi auguro che nei prossimi mesi l'Auriga sara' ammirata da migliaia di turisti che poi sceglieranno di venire in Sicilia ad ammirare tutte le altre grandi opere del nostro immenso patrimonio".
