In origine era visto così:

Cavallo rappresentato nella grotta di Lascuax, in Francia, Paleolitico superiore

Poi il cavallo è stato l'animale più presente nelle opere pittoriche. Vuoi perché, fino a poco più di un secolo fa, è stato l'unico mezzo di spostamento e di trasporto sulla terraferma, veniva usato dai cavalieri nelle battaglie, nel lavoro dei campi e nel trasporto di merci e persone come forza motrice, ma viene ancora usato come divertimento nelle corse di cavalli e nell'equitazione. Un altro motivo importante consiste nell'eleganza e nella bellezza fisica di questo animale. Alcuni pittori erano quasi specializzati nel rappresentare questo animale (Theodore Gericault o Franz Marc), altri lo hanno scelto come soggetto di frequente (Edgar Degas o Giorgio De Chirico).
In seguito a queste riflessioni ho deciso di proporvi una carrellata delle opere (alcune famosissime) in cui è presente questo soggetto, esse non seguono un preciso ordine cronologico.

Niente di straordinario Vittorio, solo che un giorno pensavo agli animali rappresentati nella pittura e ho notato che il cavallo � quello rappresentato quasi da tutti gli artisti.
