Ma c’erano gli Allman Bros che swingavano da matti, per esempio: vogliamo mettere? E poi, prova a mettere i Doobie Brothers a.d.1972, e poi un disco dei Duran Duran – tanto per dire – di dieci anni dopo, e dimmi un po’ cosa suona più attuale, e cosa clamorosamente vecchio.
Laudatis temporis actibus, già. E invece no. Perché degli ‘anni marrone’ mica m’interessa far l’agiografia. È solo che se come individuo ti formi dagli zero ai tre anni, come persona è dai tredici ai diciotto che diventi quel che sei; e poi ci resti, altroché! E ci devi fare i conti. Eccomi qui.
Le cose cambiano, sicuro, ma Midnight Rider swinga ancora, ora come allora. In cd, sicuro, rimasterizzato eccetera, non in vinile. E come Gregg inizia a cantare ti ritrovi dov’eri, che tu voglia esserci o no.
E tutto il resto svanisce, svanisce…
