Transplanted follicles retain all life cycles, grow and develop in the same way as intact hair. But the transplantation procedure causes stress on the hair follicles, which is why the active growth period of the hair shaft and the duration of the resting phase change. And such hair may lag behind in growth for some time and become thin. In order not to panic and understand what is happening, you need to know the stages of hair growth after hair transplant in Turkey by month. Knowledge of biochemical processes allows you to monitor the condition of the follicles and consult a doctor in a timely manner.

How does hair grow after transplantation?

A hair follicle goes through several cycles during its life, which have different durations:

  1. Anagen. This is a phase of active growth, when the rods increase in length, the bulb is actively working. This period lasts differently for everyone from 2 to 8 years. It depends primarily on individual characteristics, but its reduction is also influenced by external negative factors, illness and stress. Thus, on average, a person has 80–90% of all follicles in the anagen phase.
  2. Catagen. The next phase, which does not last long – from 7 days to 2 weeks. There is a gradual slowdown in processes. The hair shaft stops growing, loses shine and color saturation. Degradation processes are launched. The follicle ceases to support the hair.
  3. Exogen. The rest period is when the shaft falls out of the hair follicle and the follicle goes into hibernation, where it rests and regenerates. The duration of this phase depends on the state of health of the body and averages from 2 to 4 months.

Hair growth after transplantation occurs in the same way, but the duration of the phases becomes different. This is due to artificial changes in the processes in the follicles after removal, temporary preservation and transplantation to another  The patient’s task is to provide maximum peace and support to the body so that it can quickly go through the recovery process.

In general, the stages of hair growth after transplantation can be divided by days and months:

  1. Immediately after transplantation, the follicles continue to be in the anagen phase, so after 2-3 days hair growth resumes, which lasts 7-10 days. At the same time, the speed is very low.
  2. After 10-14 days, the catagen phase begins, when all processes are suspended, and the follicle, due to stress, cannot ensure the growth of the rod. The wounds in the donor area heal completely.
  3. After 20–30 days, the telogen phase begins and shock hair loss begins. This stage is absolutely normal and allows the follicles to become well established in the scalp and create new capillary connections.
  4. In 4-6 months. A new anagen phase starts when the follicle becomes active. A new hairline becomes noticeable, which becomes more numerous over time.
  5. After 12–18 months, all 100% of the transplanted and established hair follicles wake up. This allows you to evaluate the results of the operation, choose a suitable haircut and enjoy beautiful and strong hair.

Subsequently, hair growth after transplantation occurs as standard, as with other hair. The main thing is to follow medical recommendations, avoid injury to the follicles and use only recommended cosmetics.
