Otricoli è un comune della provincia di Terni aggrappato un una bassa collina sopra la via Flaminia.
Ho scattato questa fotografia con una Pentax K-S1 e un obiettivo Sigma 18-200 mm regolato su 63 mm. Ho sottoesposto di circa due terzi di diaframma per evitare di bruciare il cielo che era piuttosto chiaro, e ho poi aggiustato il contrasto di conseguenza. La fotografia è stata scattata in fretta perché mi ero fermato nel corso di un viaggio in macchina sulla Flaminia e non volevo far aspettare i passeggeri; col senno di poi avrei fatto bene a mettere un filtro grigio digradante per scurire un po’ il cielo e dare risalto alle nuvole. Questo tipo di immagine, scattata quasi per caso nel corso di un viaggio intrapreso per scopi diversi dalla fotografia è sempre un po’ impreciso e frettoloso. Avevo con me, oltre all’attrezzatura descritta un paio di obiettivi (il 15 mm f:4 e il 50 mm f:1.8 della Pentax), qualche filtro e una batteria di ricambio. L’attrezzatura entra in una borsa piccolissima e per un viaggio in macchina è eccellente. Per una salita a piedi in montagna avrei portato ancora meno.
Otricoli is a small village close to the city of Terni in central Italy. It sits on top of a hill and overlooks the via Flaminia.
I took this image using a Pentax K-S1 camera and a sigma 18-200 mm zoom lens set at 63 mm. I underexposed the picture by two thirds of a stop in order to keep the detail in the sky and clouds, and modified the contrast in post processing. On a second thought I should have used a graduated gray filter. I did not because I was traveling with friends on the via Flaminia and did not want to overtax their patience. This is a casual image, taken during a trip I carried out for purposes other than photography and in these instances I often shot quite hurriedly. The gear I had with me, beyond the camera and lens I described, amounted to the Pentax 15 mm F:4 limited and the Pentax 50 mm f:1.8, a few filters and a spare battery. This gear fits in a very small bag and is quite capable, excellent for a car trip, but still too heavy for a trekking.
