La Birmania è governata da una dittatura militare. Da 5 settimane monaci buddisti, affiancati adesso dale suore, stanno manifestando contro questa dittatura. Nel 1990 le elezioni videro la vittoria dei democratici guidati da Aung San Suu Kyi ma il regime non riconobbe il risultato delle elezioni e la Kyi è da 12 anni agli arresti domiciliari. A lei Bono dedicò Walk on, una delle più belle canzoni degli U2. A lei e a tutti quelli che si batterono, si battono e si batteranno contro le dittature di qualsiasi stampo ideologico dedico il post di oggi proprio con "Walk on".
